We're going 'round again!

For the third year in a row we're throwing our support behind the HFNL. As part of our support in '26 you’ll see the GreenCon logo again featured across umpire uniforms throughout the league, along with our naming rights sponsorship of Div 1 & 2 netball.

We know that strong regional communities matter. (In fact, let's not undersell that: strong regional communities matter a HELL of a lot!)

They shape where we live, where we work and where our people and families spend their weekends. So, supporting local sport is one of the ways we continue contributing to the communities that have supported us since 1964.

We’re looking forward to another bumper season in 2026 and wish every club, player, volunteer, umpire and supporter all the very best through the year.

We are hiring!

We’ve got a strong pipeline of work and are on the lookout for skilled construction workers who fit the bill.

While we're headquartered in Cobden our work regularly sees us operating across southwest Victoria - including within the Glenelg, Southern Grampians, Moyne and Colac Otway Shires, along with the City of Warrnambool and Rural City of Ararat.

One day we might be working in the agricultural sector. The next, we’re operating on industrial facilities - Port Campbell’s gas plants, anyone? We deliver commercial construction projects, civil works and residential builds alike. In short, we build things - but the projects, environments and locations we work in are as varied as they come.

No two days with us are ever quite the same.

So, if you enjoy variety in your work, like being outdoors, and have experience on the tools in construction, shoot Tony a text on 0459 467 835 and let’s start a conversation.

"The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry", as the Scottish poet Robert Burns wrote in his 1785 poem "To a Mouse".

As sometimes happens in the construction industry, plans change - so we have to postpone tomorrow's Breakfast BBQ. 🙁

We apologise to everyone who chimed in and said they'd show up, but forces outside our control conspired against us (*insert ominous tone*).

(And when we say plans 'sometimes' change in this industry - let's be honest. Change - and having the capacity to respond to that change - is THE fundamental characteristic of the industry.)

Community Breakfast BBQ; Thursday 19 February 2026, at our Station Street shed.

Yep, it's been a while... but we're back! Hosting another Community Breakfast BBQ on Thursday 19 February, in our Station Street shed (directly across the road from Fonterra).

From 6.30am to 8.00am('ish), we'll have hot bacon-&-egg sangas rolling off the line to raise $$$ for the Port Campbell Surf Life Saving Club.

In addition to two of our staff who are members of the PCSLC, if anyone has an interest in surf life saving the club's sending up Tracey and Harry - a couple of the club's long time members - to chat about everything related to surf, sun, sand and surf life saving. (Rumour has it they're bringing an IRB - Inflatable Rescue Boat - so you get the chance to get up close and personal to some of the real stuff they use when they're on the water, helpking to keep our coastline safe.)

Keep your eyes peeled for more info over the next few days.

This week Volunteering Australia is commemorating National Volunteer Week across the country.

At GreenCon, we’re proud to have a few on the team who volunteer outside of work. They do their bit during the day, then head off to help serve their communities in all manner of different guises, and for different organisations.

This week we've reflected on the outstanding contributions of one of our supervisors, Brayden Crow.

Brayden's been with the Cobden CFA since he was 17 — nearly 20 years of turning up when it matters, including in his current role as Lieutenant and Training Officer. In 2023, he received the National Medal for over 15 years of service to community safety.

He’s also a long-time committee member at the Cobden Cricket Club, and since joining GreenCon in 2011, has balanced it all with steady commitment and a calm, can-do attitude.

We know he won't make a fuss - but think it’s worth a quiet nod.

Brayden, thanks for everything you do.

--- GreenCon proudly congratulates Clydevale Holsteins on their 50 years! ---

Managing searing summer heat and winter mud (well... most winters - we acknowledge the incredibly dry conditions currently affecting southern Victoria) can be a real battle for many dairy farmers.

But it's a challenge the Dee family tackled head-on at their 2,700-acre Clydevale farm, about 65 km northwest of Echuca in northern Victoria.

Way back in 2018 GreenCon teamed up with the Dees to help them design, then build a 1-hectare compost bedding barn and robotic dairy. Completed in 2021, it's home to over 500 Holstein milkers and is fitted with the latest Lely robotic tech.

The barn’s almost 200 metres long – 20% more than goal-to-goal on the MCG!

We’re proud to have helped design and deliver their incredible facility and, today, stoked to be able to help the Dees celebrate their Golden Anniversary.

If you'd like to read more about Clydevale, check out what we had to say in our News post, from October 2023.

Today, the GreenCon team came together to farewell a much-loved colleague and mate, Garon McLean, who lost his short battle with cancer on 24 April.

We extend our heartfelt sympathy to his parents, Wendy and David; his partner, Corrine; his adored children, Caleb, Rhys, Alyvia, and Chase; and all his wider family and friends.

Saying goodbye at his funeral was incredibly tough — a reminder of how quickly life can change. Garon was more than just a co-worker; he was a good man, a loyal friend, and someone we were proud to stand alongside each day.

We’ll miss his presence, his humour, and his quiet strength. Our thoughts remain with his family and loved ones during this heartbreaking time.

Garon, may you rest in peace.
