Day Five — Done and Dusted!
Well, Day Five is done and dusted, and we have achieved everything we set out to do. It’s been a big five days, with early starts, late finishes and plenty of challenges along the way — but looking at the end result, it was all worth it.
I’ll leave you with the before-and-after photos, along with the list of everything we managed to accomplish over the five days.
A huge thank you to everyone who has followed along, supported us and shared this worthwhile journey with me. Your encouragement has been greatly appreciated.
And finally, a massive thank you to Dean for trusting I Can Fix That to get the job done. It has been an absolute pleasure being part of the work at Path of the Horse, and I’m proud of what we have achieved together.
Until the next project… 🔨💪

Well, that's the end of Day 4, and we're all starting to feel a little run down, but the progress is definitely worth it.
Today we finished painting the bathroom, and it already looks so much brighter and fresher. We also completed painting the ceiling in the new lecture room, which has really transformed the space.
Our biggest challenge continues to be the weather. Working in the high country at Trentham means it's usually around 5°C cooler than Melbourne, so the plaster is taking much longer to dry than expected.
Thankfully, we've come up with a solution. With a large fan circulating the warm air from the log fire heater, we're speeding up the drying process. If all goes to plan, the walls will be completely dry and ready for the final two coats of paint tomorrow.
Slow and steady is winning the race, and we're looking forward to seeing it all come together.

Day Two at Path of the Horse is done!
The new window is now installed and the plaster is up. While we didn't get through as much as we'd hoped due to the weather, we're still on track to complete all of this week's allocated jobs.
Tomorrow we'll be painting the bathroom and finishing off the plastering around the new window. The cold and damp conditions are making drying times a little slower, but with the wood fire heater working overtime, everything should dry out just fine.
Despite the weather doing its best to slow us down, we're making steady progress and looking forward to another productive day on site!

What better way to kick off the week than getting stuck into another project at Path of the Horse!
Today's job was installing a new double-glazed window in the old bunk room. As with many older buildings, we uncovered a few challenges along the way. The existing internal wall framing had been built in front of the original shed framing, creating a bit of a dilemma during the installation.
To overcome this, we constructed a new 235mm frame that incorporates both the original shed frame and the internal wall framing, creating a solid and secure opening for the new window. It's all about taking the time to do the job properly and ensuring the finished result will stand the test of time.
Looking forward to seeing this space continue to come together for everyone who benefits from the incredible work Path of the Horse does.

Our client wanted to replace her tired old window frames with new aluminium casement windows. After speaking with our good friends at A & R Second Hand Dealers in Campbellfield, she was referred to us to get the job done.
These weren't your standard off-the-shelf windows, so A & R arranged for our measurements to be sent to a window manufacturer. Five weeks later, the custom-made windows were ready for installation.
Removing the old windows was a challenge, as they were an extremely tight fit. They had to be carefully cut out before we checked the existing frame for plumb and installed the new aluminium windows.
The installation itself took a full day, but we weren't quite finished. The existing brickwork didn't line up perfectly with the new window frames, so we fabricated custom aluminium angle trims, cut them to size, etch primed them, and applied a top coat to perfectly match the window colour.
In total, the project took two days to complete, and the transformation has completely modernised the home. Most importantly, our client couldn't be happier with the final result.

The client wanted to freshen up his ensuite but was limited by the available space. By thinking outside the box and making the most of every corner, we were able to maximise both functionality and style. The result is a modern, practical ensuite that feels more spacious and inviting. Most importantly, our client couldn't be happier with the finished product, and we think the end result speaks for itself. 🛠️✨

Today was a shining example of collaboration and perseverance. Despite the weather not cooperating, we joined forces with the brickie to install this splashback window, ensuring we stayed on track and kept the renovation momentum going. Working hand in hand with fellow professionals in the trade industry is the key to driving a build forward efficiently and, most importantly, delighting our clients. On this project, our clients even rolled up their sleeves and lent a hand to accelerate the process. This hands-on experience gave them a deeper appreciation for the hard work, meticulous planning, and dedication required to bring their vision to life. Renovations can be challenging, but witnessing our clients' excitement as their dream kitchen takes shape makes every effort worthwhile. Stay tuned as this incredible transformation unfolds!

Day 7 of the kitchen transformation! 🔨🏠
The project is really starting to come together. The framing, plumbing and electrical work have all been completed, and the plaster is now up.
Tomorrow is another exciting milestone as we team up with the bricklayer to remove the external bricks and install the new double-glazed window. This feature will not only transform the look of the space but also improve energy efficiency and natural light throughout the kitchen.
Our clients are loving the transformation so far and are counting down the days until their beautiful new kitchen is installed. We can't wait to show you the next stage of this renovation journey.
Stay tuned for more updates as this incredible kitchen makeover continues! 👌🔨

This week we've started rebuilding our client's kitchen, and what a transformation it's going to be! The entire floor plan has been redesigned, and after just two days, it's already starting to take shape.
The new kitchen is scheduled to be installed within the next couple of weeks, which gives us plenty of time to complete the built-in pantry and the new splashback window.
It's always exciting to see a project come together from the ground up, and we can't wait to show you the finished result.
Stay tuned for more updates and progress photos in the coming weeks!

A lot of our jobs are pretty straightforward and these are two examples. The first required the laserlight replaced and the deck rejuvenated and the second needed the exterior painted on an ongoing job of renovating two rooms.
