Today was a shining example of collaboration and perseverance. Despite the weather not cooperating, we joined forces with the brickie to install this splashback window, ensuring we stayed on track and kept the renovation momentum going. Working hand in hand with fellow professionals in the trade industry is the key to driving a build forward efficiently and, most importantly, delighting our clients. On this project, our clients even rolled up their sleeves and lent a hand to accelerate the process. This hands-on experience gave them a deeper appreciation for the hard work, meticulous planning, and dedication required to bring their vision to life. Renovations can be challenging, but witnessing our clients' excitement as their dream kitchen takes shape makes every effort worthwhile. Stay tuned as this incredible transformation unfolds!

Day 7 of the kitchen transformation! 🔨🏠
The project is really starting to come together. The framing, plumbing and electrical work have all been completed, and the plaster is now up.
Tomorrow is another exciting milestone as we team up with the bricklayer to remove the external bricks and install the new double-glazed window. This feature will not only transform the look of the space but also improve energy efficiency and natural light throughout the kitchen.
Our clients are loving the transformation so far and are counting down the days until their beautiful new kitchen is installed. We can't wait to show you the next stage of this renovation journey.
Stay tuned for more updates as this incredible kitchen makeover continues! 👌🔨

This week we've started rebuilding our client's kitchen, and what a transformation it's going to be! The entire floor plan has been redesigned, and after just two days, it's already starting to take shape.
The new kitchen is scheduled to be installed within the next couple of weeks, which gives us plenty of time to complete the built-in pantry and the new splashback window.
It's always exciting to see a project come together from the ground up, and we can't wait to show you the finished result.
Stay tuned for more updates and progress photos in the coming weeks!

A lot of our jobs are pretty straightforward and these are two examples. The first required the laserlight replaced and the deck rejuvenated and the second needed the exterior painted on an ongoing job of renovating two rooms. Rebuilding a Deck: Why Doing It Right Matters

Anything built with timber requires ongoing maintenance. That’s just the reality. But if you want something to truly stand the test of time, it has to be built properly from the ground up.

Unfortunately, not all builders take that approach. Too often, we see decks that have been put together using shortcuts—quicker, cheaper methods that might look fine at first but don’t last. And when those shortcuts start to fail, it’s not the builder who deals with the consequences… it’s the homeowner. What was meant to be a simple outdoor space quickly turns into a costly and frustrating repair job.

That’s where we come in.
At I Can Fix That (ICFT), we believe in doing it right the first time. No shortcuts. No compromises.
Built From the Ground Up.

When we recently took on a deck rebuild, our focus was simple: quality, durability, and longevity.
We used: Treated pine or hardwood for strong, reliable framing bearer and joist protection tape to extend the life of the structure, galvanised bugle screws for secure fixing and galvanised twist-lock decking nails to ensure long-term hold.

Every material we use is chosen for a reason—because it helps the deck last longer and perform better in real-world conditions.

Progress in Just Three Days.
In just three days, we transformed the structure into a solid, well-built deck that the client can rely on for years to come.

There are still a few finishing touches to complete—applying decking oil, installing plinths, and trimming the deck edges—but the heavy lifting is done, and the results speak for themselves.
The Difference Is in the Details
Anyone can build a deck that looks good on day one.
Not everyone builds a deck that still looks and performs well years down the track.

That difference comes down to care, experience, and a commitment to quality.
And that’s exactly what we stand for.

Making the Most of a Small Laundry

The laundry might be one of the smallest rooms in the house, but it’s one of the most used. From washing clothes and muddy footy boots to handling the daily pile of dirty laundry, it works hard every day.
With the washing machine, dryer and trough as the essentials, the rest of the space is an opportunity. By thinking outside the box and using smart storage solutions, even the smallest laundry can become functional, organised and efficient.

When you first move into your new home, the laundry is usually built to accommodate any type of washing machine. While that sounds convenient, it often leaves a lot of unusable space — especially if you switch from a top loader to a front loader.
That’s where smart design makes all the difference.
Depending on your needs and the materials selected, we can transform your laundry into a far more functional and user-friendly space. From custom cabinetry and benchtops to clever storage solutions, we make every inch count.
For this project, we even installed a fold-away clothes hanging rack that sits flat against the wall when not in use.
Now that’s a smarter way to use space.
If your laundry feels underutilised, let’s turn it into a practical and efficient workspace.

Have you ever wondered what kind of gate would best suit your property?

There are plenty of options out there, but at the end of the day you want something that not only looks great, but also provides the security and peace of mind your family deserves.

For this project, we built the gate completely from scratch using galvanised steel for strength and durability, paired with premium merbau timber for a warm, modern finish.

The result? A custom gate designed to last a lifetime while keeping the client’s kids safely secured in the backyard and out of harm’s way.
Strong. Secure. Built to last. And made to suit the home perfectly.

If you think something like this would suit your property, head to www.icanfixthat.com.au and click on “Request a Quote”. Let’s build something that works for you.

A repeat client got in touch after noticing dry rot on her garage fascia board around the downpipe area. At first, the job appeared fairly straightforward, but as we peeled back the damaged section, it became clear the issue was more extensive than expected.

Once the affected timber was removed, the cause of the damage was obvious — the sarking was damaged beyond repair. This allowed water running down the sarking to bypass the gutter and instead soak into the timber, causing the rot.

We repaired the affected timber and replaced the rusted gutter and downpipe. However, we will be returning in the new year to replace the damaged sarking and swap the roofing nails for screws to prevent future issues.

The client was very pleased with the end result, and we look forward to completing the final stage of works in the new year.
