Colac Woodcrafters Guild

Colac Woodcrafters Guild Colac Woodcrafters Guild is a not-for-profit group to promote all aspects of working with wood Colac Woodcrafters Guild started in May 1980.

We are a not-for-profit group run by volunteers whose main aim is to promote all aspects of working with wood. Currently there are over 40 members, men and women of all ages and skill levels, from highly experienced craftspeople to complete beginners. The strength of the club are first, our more experienced members are willing to help beginners and second, the friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Th

e Guild has a purpose-built shed with a wide range of equipment, machinery and tools. The shed was funded through a major grant under the Victorian Men's Shed Program and completed in 2017. Our workshop is open four days per week, 3 sessions when members can work on their own or Guild projects, plus a session for wood turning. New members are matched with a more experienced mentor who supports them until they are approved to use the machines unsupervised. We also run a weekly Junior Woodwork Program. Numbers are limited to what the Guild can properly manage. We are delighted that some of our Juniors are now employed in construction and related industries.
