There have been a few instances of where rumours are floating around in recent times that Cooma Sand & Concrete went broke, faced insolvency or simply couldn’t run a business.

We want to make one thing very clear — this is completely false!

Cooma Sand & Concrete is still & always will be, a fully legal & registered business. The business did not close due to financial failure, insolvency or an inability to operate.

The decision to transition to Intermountain Concrete & Materials was a strategic move to better represent where our business is heading. With our recent expansion into Braidwood, along with other future opportunities, we felt the need for a change where Cooma Sand & Concrete name no longer represented the full scope of what we do.

This was never about walking away from our history — it was about building it stronger.

Cooma Sand & Concrete will always be part of our story, our family & our foundations. Intermountain is simply the next chapter in our exciting journey.

Rumours will always circulate, but the facts will always remain the same:

In 1972, Gino & Pierina Revelant opened the doors to what would become Cooma Sand & Concrete. What started as a small family business, built on hard work, honesty & determination, slowy grew into a trusted local name across Cooma & the Snowy Mountains.

For more than five decades, Cooma Sand & Concrete has been part of this community - supplying materials, supporting projects & working alongside generations of locals, tradies, & families. We are incredibly proud of that legacy & deeply grateful for the support & loyalty shown to our family over the years.

As of the 1st January 2026, we entered a new chapter under Intermountain Concrete & Materials.

With our expansion into Braidwood, the business has grown beyond its original footprint & this new name reflects who we are today & where we’re heading. While the name has changed, our values haven’t. We remain a family-owned business that is fully committed to quality products, reliable service & supporting the communities that have supported us.

This change is about growth, opportunity, & building on the foundations laid by Gino & Pierina back in 1972. Their vision & hard work created something special which we are honoured to carry that legacy forward into the future.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of the Cooma Sand & Concrete story.
