Honestly, I’m still trying to take it all in. 🏆🇨🇳
What a crazy eight weeks it’s been!
Running a one-man business means wearing all the hats. As an electrical contractor and security installer, I was balancing the day-to-day business with filming, editing and publishing content throughout the challenge.
I threw my whole self into it, and honestly, I never expected to come away as the first-prize winner. I was competing against people and businesses of all sizes, while running my own business and creating everything myself. To come away with this result is something pretty special.
There were sacrifices along the way, particularly when it came to time at home with my young family. My girls were right there beside me while I was immersed in the challenge, and I’m incredibly grateful to them and my family for their patience, understanding and support throughout those eight weeks. ❤️
But there’s something even more important I hope my girls take away from this experience.
I hope they’ve seen that it’s never too late to put yourself out there, take a chance and go after an opportunity. It doesn’t matter what age you are, what stage of life you’re at or whether you have a big team behind you. You don’t need to have everything figured out. Sometimes you just need to back yourself, give it everything you’ve got and see where it takes you.
A huge thank you to Dahua Technology Australia and New Zealand for creating such an incredible opportunity, and to all my clients who trusted me with their properties and gave me permission to film and showcase the systems we installed. Your support made so much of this possible, and I genuinely appreciate it.
To be announced as a first-prize winner and have the opportunity to travel to China is something I honestly didn’t see coming. I haven’t travelled overseas in more than 15 years, so it’s still sinking in!
Now it’s time to take a breath, enjoy the result and look forward to the adventure ahead. 🇨🇳✈️
