We have been all hands on deck at Hillarys for the last couple of days replacing an old Hills Reliance security alarm with a new DSC Neo so that it can seamlessly integrate with Control4. Unfortunately when we opened the old Hills Reliance panel we found the existing wiring, along with the printed circuit boards were shoved into the back of the panel, out of sight out of mind.

This is not how we operate…

We opted to install 2 panels so that the main control module & 3 zone expansion modules along with an additional power module could be secured properly making for an easier security alarm panel to maintain & service.

Wine cellar coming together nicely at Sorrento, we love it when customers get creative.

We installed 6 2500mm Robus LED cob strip lights in recessed aluminium profile, to create a back lighting against the frames which will hold the wine.

Lighting is controlled by Control4 Zigbee switches, capable of switching up to 2 loads, with the option of up to 4 scenes per switch & will be engraved on completion.

We have terminated our 96 pole NHP chassis switchboard for our friends at IEC in Canning Vale.

This switchboard will be ready, after testing, to be energized & put into action.

We have individual NHP RCBO’s protecting both 3 phase & single phase sub circuits for optimal protection against electric shock.

Watch Out for Backyard Bandits (Otherwise Known as Cowboys)

Seeing this far too often recently. This wiring was for an external wall light in Ocean Reef.

We were actually on site replacing light fittings & whilst completing our testing today we flagged an earthing issue with a light we had replaced. An unnecessary headache for the next person (in this case us)

Although the light fitting didn’t require an earth & was double insulated it’s still a legal requirement for every light fitting to have an earth available should it be required.

There is absolutely no reason why the earth should not be continued through to the next point on the circuit. This also means that the next light on this cable run has an earth but it’s actually not connected to anything.

Of course, when we find crap like this, we rectify it & inform our customers.

Here are some photos of our recently completed project in Canning Vale in collaboration with our friends at IEC installing 100 meters of suspended cable tray & new wring for 3 phase & single phase switched socket outlets, using orange circular cable.

All that’s left for us is to terminate the switchboard & complete our testing.
