Stacey’s story shows what’s possible with determination, the right support and clear goals. After reconnecting with support services and putting in the work, she’s built strong foundations for herself and her son.

Seeing people move into stable work, secure housing and long-term independence is what this is all about. Stacey’s commitment and attitude speak for themselves, and we’re proud to support her as she continues building her future.

A fresh start, new skills and a secure future 👏

Stacey’s main focus was creating stability for herself and her son. Through the Matrix program and our Work Ready Release Ready program, Stacey was supported to build strong foundations for life and work, alongside a dedicated mentor who played a crucial role in supporting her journey. Together, they set clear goals around housing, employment and upskilling, laying the groundwork for a fresh start.

After reconnecting with Workskil Australia earlier this year, Stacey took part in our Road to Redemption program, which supports people with a criminal justice history to build skills and pathways into employment. Through the program, she gained valuable construction qualifications, including a Certificate II in Construction, a White Card and a roller ticket. With tailored support from her Employment Coach, Stacey also received assistance with transport, phone credit, resume building, work clothing and boots to help her prepare for work.

Stacey’s commitment paid off. With further support, she successfully regained her driver’s licence and secured full-time work as a Builders Labourer with Karta Services, supported by a wage subsidy. She is now working towards her HR licence.

Today, Stacey is in secure housing, enjoying meaningful employment and the independence that comes with stable income. She is focused on building a strong future for her family.

We’re very proud of Stacey and can’t wait to see what she achieves next.

Karta Indigenous Services, renowned for their commitment to empowering indigenous communities, is making waves in the field. By fostering cultural preservation, community development, and sustainable practices, they hope to become a driving force in creating a brighter future for indigenous peoples.

We have a project starting in Adelaide's South next month and have Dump Truck and Water Truck Positions available. RII Qualification is favourable, must have own transport and be reliable.

That's a wrap! Last month we completed our Raukkan Community Landfill Closure Project one week ahead of schedule! The site was rehabilitated to ensure 100% of the footprint was returned to farming land, which the community can now add to the land lease for cropping.Thanks Ganbara Facility Services for the opportunity!

Yesterday's at our Raukkan Landfill Closure project was a ripper. This week will see this project completed on time and on budget, just in time for seeding. We are going to miss the views that's for sure.

Today marks the end of our first successful training program.

In teaming up with Carey Training and Wel.co with support from Buttrose Earthmovers we were able to offer 6 young students the chance to obtain the qualification "Introduction to Civil Construction, SSDIS01010"

Over the last four weeks they have been on-site learning the entry level skills to help them into this great industry. The trainees now have the opportunity apply for a traineeship with Karta, where they can obtain a Cert II in Civil Construction.

Well done to all the trainees for graduating today, welcome to a great industry!
