What an honour it has been to sponsor the big powerful #6 in Connor McFadyen Sturt Football Club. Wishing him all the best as he follows his next chapter with a kookaburra in hand. Go well big chap, and thank you for the great memories. 👍💪👏👏

Thank You, Connor

From big goals to big moments, Connor McFadyen time in the Double Blue comes to an end as we wish him well for what’s next. Since joining the Club, Connor has been a consistent and dynamic presence up forward, a powerful marking target and reliable finisher who has played a vital role in our recent success.

A 2025 League Premiership Player, 2024 State Senior Team representative, 2024 Sturt Leading Goalkicker, 2023 League Grand Final Player and member of The Advertiser SANFL Team of the Year, Connor has left an indelible mark on our Club.

Senior Coach Marty Mattner said: “Connor has been a key part of our forward structure with his strength, work rate and finishing. He’s had a big impact on and off the field, and his consistency has been outstanding across his time at the Club.”

We thank Connor for everything he’s given to the Double Blues and wish him continued success in his future endeavours

We were privileged to provide civil engineering services for the oval extension, fully accessible playground and the car parking and access upgrades to this well planned and multi-staged redevelopment of Tanunda Recreation Hub for The Barossa Council as part of The Big Project. Great results for the all local sports clubs that call Tanunda Rec Park home. Bravo! 👏👏👏

The test for progress on this issue will be Good Design. Good design will provide a project outcome that satisfies the need for access for general community use and a sensible solution to support ticketed events for Sturt Football Club and all users.
Having provided civil and structural engineering services for multiple upgrades at Unley Oval since 2016 CPR aplaud the vision of the City of Unley for raising this motion and proceeding with the CoDesign process.
Open access will be maintained (other than for ticketed events only) and the designer's Greenway Architects proven ability to provide excellent public infrastructure will no doubt prevail.

Sturt Football Club wishes to reaffirm its support for the City of Unley's investigation into the installation of a permanent perimeter fence at Unley Oval. Our position on this matter has not changed.

During Gather Round, Unley Oval welcomed hundreds of visitors who were impressed by our iconic venue and facilities. Many expressed surprise at the ongoing debate and found it difficult to understand the controversy surrounding a permanent fence—something seen as standard at regional sporting grounds shared with the community.

Unfortunately, a small but vocal group continues to spread misinformation in opposition to the proposal. Claims such as the Club—alongside the City of Unley—intends to restrict dog access to the oval are completely false. These assertions are untrue, unfounded, and only serve to mislead the community. They are lies.

The Club has been transparent and consistent in its advocacy:

We support the investigation into a permanent perimeter fence at Unley Oval.

We support an aesthetically pleasing design with multiple openings that would only close during ticketed events.

We are committed to preserving public access and ensuring multi-purpose use of Unley Oval.

We thank our members, supporters and the wider community for their ongoing support and encourage everyone to seek facts over fiction.

Quite an extraordinary journey through the design of this fascinating roof structure. The vision and exquisite detail warranted by such a talented Architect in Anton Johnson was unparalleled.

We are pleased to announce that today marks 20 years in business for CPR Engineers.

CPR’s evolution has been a journey from strength to strength. It started with a solid foundation of David Combe and Associates, built over the preceding 20 years, earning its reputation in the industry through a portfolio of a prominent body of work. CPR started in March 2005 with momentum and steadily established itself in the South Australian building industry.

More recently, to continue with the spirit of CPR, we congratulate Mark Stewart and Mark Billinger for their immense contribution and dedication as CPR’s newest Directors.

To our Clients, Architects, and other industry professionals that have allowed us to produce great designs for their projects - we thank you.

We further thank the talented civil and structural engineers and drafters (current and former) that enjoy working on stimulating projects at CPR Engineers.

The link below is a compilation of fine project outcomes of which we are very proud; and remains a vivid testament to CPR’s progress, achievements, and work culture in the last 20 years.
Please enjoy.

BUILDING THE BLUES – STAGE II – NOW A REALITY

The Club in conjunction with The City of Unley and Federal Government is set to start construction of the Stage II component of the Unley Oval Upgrade Redevelopment project.

The project will benefit both the Club and community constructing a state of the art, multi-use meeting space and upgraded spectator viewing areas atop the Jack Oatey Grandstand overlooking the iconic Unley Oval.

Stage I of the project was completed in late 2018 delivering an upgrade of modern facilities, unisex changerooms, new canteen and enhanced disability access to the precinct.

Full development approval was granted in early 2021 for the $4.5m Stage II project to proceed. Tenders were called for last week, and construction is expected to commence prior to December this year.

The Club will contribute $1,000,000 towards the project. This is above the $750,000 it has already contributed over the last six years (with some help from supporters) to the Unley Oval precinct improvements including improved lighting, fencing, electronic scoreboard and Stage I.

Club President Jason Kilic said all Sturt supporters should be excited and feel a sense of immense pride about the next part of the redevelopment.

“I thank Council and the Federal Government for their significant financial contribution to the project.

“The Club continues to demonstrate its financial commitment through its Building the Blues program which has been developed in partnership with the Australian Sports Foundation (ASF).

“This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for supporters to be part of Sturt’s DNA securing the Club’s future for generations to come.

“We need our facilities to be the best they can be to meet the demands of our inclusive, elite and growing pathway programs.

“We want our players, supporters and the football community to see Sturt as the destination Club”, said Kilic

Donations to the Building the Blues project over $2.00 are fully tax deductible.
