⚠️ Reminder: educate your clients about termites and electrical appliances ⚠️
This is an issue worth reinforcing with customers during inspections and reports. Many clients still don’t realise that electrical appliances and services are high‑risk termite zones.

We regularly see activity in and around:
🔌 Meter boxes and switchboards
🔌 Air‑conditioning units
🔌 Hot water systems
🔌 Power points and wall cavities with wiring conduits

It’s important to explain why this happens. Termites aren’t attracted to electricity itself, but to the heat, moisture and concealed access these installations create.

Conduits and wall penetrations can effectively act as highways, allowing termites to move unnoticed into wall cavities and roof spaces.

When talking with clients, it helps to highlight the warning signs they can safely look for, such as mud shelter tubes around meter boxes or unexplained electrical issues that may indicate damage to insulation. At the same time, stress that DIY sprays and interference are a risk, particularly near electrical infrastructure, and can push colonies deeper or make professional treatment harder.

This is also a good opportunity to reinforce the value of regular termite inspections, especially for properties with older wiring, external meter boxes or split systems mounted against walls. Framing it as both a structural and electrical safety issue tends to resonate strongly with clients.

Clear client education on this topic not only helps manage expectations, but also builds trust and positions inspections as preventative — not just reactive.

⛽ Important Update – Travel Fees

Hi everyone,

We wanted to be upfront with you all regarding rising fuel costs and how this is impacting our business.

Over the past 4 years, we have never charged a travel fee unless jobs were extremely far away (3+ hours). We’ve always done our best to absorb those costs and keep things simple for our customers.

However, with our business relying on travelling many kilometres each day, this has become increasingly difficult to maintain.

👉 What’s changing?

No travel fee within Emerald ✅
A travel fee will apply to towns outside of Emerald

This change will come into effect from Monday, 30th March 2026.

This wasn’t an easy decision to make, but it’s necessary to ensure we can continue providing reliable, quality service across all areas.

We truly appreciate your understanding and ongoing support.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

🚨 Rodent Bait Changes – What You Need to Know 🐭

There have been new Australia-wide changes to rodent bait regulations, which means how rodent control is carried out will be a little different moving forward.

👉 What does this mean for you?

At LMS Pest Services, we’ll still keep your property protected using approved, compliant products, but you may notice:

More frequent monitoring in some cases
Changes to the types of baits used
Increased use of secure bait stations

💡 Due to these changes, there may also be some price increases, as treatments now require more time, visits, and compliance measures.

✅ Good news for our regular clients!

If you are on a monthly service, these changes are already in line with your current schedule, so this will not affect you.

Nothing to stress about — we’ve got it covered 👍
We’re fully licensed and across all the new rules to make sure everything is done the right way.
