Dear Valued Customer,
We hope you are all staying healthy in these trying times.
We just wanted to keep you updated with our Control Measures during this Pandemic and assure you we are committed to deliver all services that can practicably be delivered during the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Whilst also ensuring we continue to meet all the advice and direction of the State and Commonwealth Government regarding COVID-19.
ALLCOAST GROUP is committed to working with our staff to achieve the best level of service to our Clients during this unprecedented time, however the situation is evolving rapidly and changes to services may be required (for example due to the availability of fuel, oils, tyres etc) ,also access to tipping and recycling facilities.
What should we do as an employer to protect workers and others at a workplace? (as detailed by Safe Work Australia.)
Under the model WHS laws, employers must have measures in place to eliminate or manage the risks arising from COVID-19. To do this, we keep up to date with the latest COVID-19 information and advice and ensure that any action taken is appropriate. This includes closely monitoring the information provided by the Australian Government Department of Health, the Smartraveller website also advice from State or Territory government agencies, including Health departments and WHS regulators.
We will not be able to completely eliminate the risk of workers contracting COVID-19 while carrying out work. However we must do all that is reasonably practicable to minimise that risk, what control measures will be reasonably practicable will depend on the work being carried out by our workers and site specific workplaces.
We will be following these measures;
• Determine appropriate control measures in consultation with workers, and taking account of official information sources.
• Implementing those measures and clearly communicate them to all workers, including providing clear direction and guidance about what is expected of workers.
- Workers should know when to stay away from the workplace.
- What action to take if they become unwell, and
- What symptoms to be concerned about.
• Continually monitor relevant information sources and update control measures when and if necessary. Management should continue to provide information to workers, including changes to control measures, as the situation develops.
• Provide workers with continued access to official government sources for current information and advice.
• Provide workers with appropriate Personal Protective Equipment and facilities, and information and training on how and why they are required to use them.
• Require workers to practice good hygiene, including:
- Frequent hand washing.
- Limiting contact with others, including through shaking hands and covering their mouths while coughing or sneezing.
• Require workers to stay away from the workplace if they are unwell and not fit for work, and encourage them to seek medical advice as appropriate.
• Seek advice from health authorities immediately if there has been a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the workplace.
• Limit access to the workplace by other people, unless necessary.
• Reconsider work-related travel and implement other methods of communication.
• Remind workers that they have a duty to take reasonable care for their own health and safety and to not adversely affect the health and safety of others.
• Provide workers with a point of contact to discuss their concerns, and access to support services, including employee assistance programs.
• Allow workers to access available entitlements in line with obligations under any applicable enterprise agreement, award, employees’ contracts of employment, and workplace policies.
The above information and further resources are available on the 'Safe Work Australia website.'
ALLCOAST GROUP are also implementing 2 more control measures;
1. When we arrive at your site, rather than coming up to you and shaking your hand and discussing the days procedure;
We are going to call you from our mobile phone to greet you and ask what you discuss any changes or issues (This will safeguard you, our employees & our operators)
2. When we have finished the job, again one of our managers will give you a call to inspect if you wish before floating the machine from site;
We understand that this may not be ideal, but with the current Pandemic we have no choice but to administer these control measures.
If you have any questions regarding these control measures or if you have any specific Control Measures that you would like us to know about please contact; [email protected]
This can be an anxious time for us all, but we believe that if we all work together we will get through this trying time and hopefully come out the other end stronger than ever.
Thank you for your continued business support and we wish you and your families all the best for the year ahead!
Kind Regards,
Joe Macarlino (Director) Steve Pregnell (Administration)
