Kirkwood by Joe Adsett

A bold interplay of form and light, Kirkwood embodies the essence of sub-tropical modernism — sculptural, refined, and deeply connected to its landscape. Defined by strong lines and softened by natural materiality, the architecture balances openness and privacy, creating a residence that feels both grounded and serene.

Every element has been considered — from the rhythm of the façade to the warmth of timber detailing — resulting in a home that is timeless in character and effortless in living.

Cliffhanger by Joe Adsett

With unrivalled views of the expansive landscape, Cliffhanger seamlessly connects a masculine edge with soft material choices.
Situated on an expansive, grassed sloping site, the form of the building is overwhelmingly comprised of off-form concrete and masonry construction. The composition of the house is deceivingly simple. In essence, the building exists as a folded concrete shell, balanced carefully upon blockwork foundations that anchor into the sloping topography below. The cantilever of the folded concrete element is further dramatized by the angled natural.

The design features an impressive 6.5 metre concrete cantilever and full-height glazing along entire eastern façade, to embrace the panoramic views from the crest of the Great Dividing Range.

Lucente by Joe Adsett

Defined by a sculptural interplay of light, curvature, and layered form, Lucente takes its identity from luminosity itself. A rhythmic façade of softened edges and flowing balconies creates movement across the building, while capturing changing light throughout the day.

This residence is shaped around outlook and openness, with generous terraces conceived as extensions of the living space — inviting breeze, landscape, and filtered sun deep into the architecture. The layering of built form creates privacy without sacrificing connection, giving the project a calm and highly resolved spatial quality.

Materiality is refined and tonal, allowing light and shadow to animate the architecture and reinforce its quiet, luminous presence.

A project shaped by light, movement, and the softness of form.

Riviera by Joe Adsett

Inspired by a life shaped by water, Riviera is a refined expression of coastal luxury — where architecture moves with the rhythm of its setting. Soft, flowing forms and layered terraces echo the horizon, creating a sense of calm continuity between built form and landscape.

Generous living spaces open effortlessly to the outdoors, capturing light, breeze, and expansive views. Natural materiality and a warm, restrained palette bring a softness to the architecture, balancing elegance with ease.

A residence defined by light, movement, and the timeless allure of waterfront living.

Boomerang House by Joe Adsett

Configured in an L-shape, the practical configuration promotes livability, with the separate living spaces each connecting to the glittering pool and garden, altogether enhancing the connection between indoors and out.

As a combining of light and a weighted materiality, the linear forms are softened by insertions of select rounder and ushering forms. Focusing connections throughout, the home feels deliberately light and directed to the surrounding natural elements.

Gallery House by Joe Adsett

Conceived as a sequence of curated spaces, Gallery House is defined by movement, light, and framed moments. Circulation becomes experience — each transition revealing a new perspective, where architecture and interior are composed with a sense of rhythm and restraint.

Layered volumes and sculpted openings draw light deep into the home, creating a shifting interplay of shadow and texture throughout the day. Living spaces extend outward to controlled terraces, balancing openness with privacy.

Materiality is warm and tactile — a refined palette that grounds the home while allowing form, proportion, and detail to take precedence.

A residence where architecture is experienced, not just occupied.

Laurent by Joe Adsett

A landmark residence in the highly desirable inner-city suburb of Paddington, this exquisite home presents a vibrant interpretation of the modern Queensland lifestyle.

The lightly clad linear forms align vertically, with a banded approach that mimics the traditional Queenslander style yet is interpreted through a modern methodology.

Defying its steeply sloping site, Laurent is a composed insertion in place. The use of weatherboard and timber detailing becomes a nod to the past and to the surrounding architectural context yet has its own inimitable style that clearly defines the levels from one another, while also being distinctly contemporary.

La Rosa by Joe Adsett

Tucked within a quiet, leafy pocket of Brisbane’s west, La Rosa is a careful re-sculpting of a pre-1940s home — where the existing character is not replaced, but evolved.

A palette of soft, textural materials grounds the addition in its context, allowing old and new to sit in quiet dialogue. The original form is retained and celebrated, while new interventions introduce a sense of openness, light, and contemporary living.

Designed as a home for a growing family, the architecture balances robustness with refinement — durable, grounded spaces layered with moments of detail, privacy, and calm.

A considered evolution — where heritage, materiality, and modern living are seamlessly intertwined.

Eclipse by Joe Adsett

A composition shaped by contrast, Eclipse explores the balance between solidity and lightness — where bold forms are softened through curvature, depth, and shadow. The façade reveals itself in layers, shifting throughout the day as light moves across its surface.

Deep recesses and sculpted openings draw natural light into the interior while maintaining a sense of privacy and calm. Living spaces extend outward to framed terraces, creating a seamless dialogue between inside and out.

Materiality is restrained and refined — allowing light, proportion, and shadow to define the architecture.

A residence of quiet tension — where light and shadow coexist in balance.

Seaview by Joe Adsett

Positioned to fully embrace its coastal outlook, Seaview is shaped by horizon, light, and the movement of the ocean beyond. A series of horizontal planes and layered terraces extend outward — framing uninterrupted views while creating depth and shelter from the elements.

The architecture is open yet controlled. Expansive glazing invites natural light deep into the interiors, while deep overhangs and recessed edges temper exposure, allowing spaces to remain calm and livable throughout the day.

Materiality is soft and enduring — warm tones and natural textures grounding the home within its setting, while enhancing the ever-changing atmosphere of light and sea.

A residence defined by outlook, balance, and a seamless connection to the coast.
