We have been lucky enough to be a part of some big changes that have been happening at our local Garfield Community Gardens.
It was a fantastic challenge to create the wonderful mandala garden! Removing and mulching shrubs, digging down and levelling the area, setting steel edging, and bringing in rock for pathways and good soil for the garden beds. It’s almost unrecognisable!

As you’ve seen in our previous post, we’ve had a busy few weeks here in Mornington.
We’ve been carting in lots of materials for a whole backyard revamp; clearing weeds, lifting the soil level, spreading out pathway toppings, cutting and digging in lengths of railway sleepers for steps, carting in rocks, and building stairs from existing landing pads.
It’s been a satisfying few weeks of contract work for Laguna Landscape Designs, that has brought a remarkable change to the property. We’re just waiting on the shed slab before putting in the finishing touches
It will look amazing once planting and mulch is finished!

We haven't been able to complain about the backdrop on sight for the past two weeks! So far we have carted in 110m³ of soil, 10m³ of base rock and then toppings. Granite boulders in steep sections and railway sleepers for steps and working on retaining walls. Another week and a half to go here with plenty more material to bring in still, so keep your eyes out for the completion of our stage of this landscaping job! 🪏

Here at West Gippsland Mini Diggers we were called to Neerim South to replace an old retaining wall, as the original posts and sleepers were rotting and starting to go on the lean.
A single wall running down the side of the property with a 45 degree corner that turns into a 2 tiered retaining wall along the driveway.

The West Gippsland Mini Diggers team was very local for one of our latest jobs; a driveway in Garfield.
We trimmed back the overhanging bushes, removed the loose top layer of stone, brought it back under the height of the existing edging, then spread and rolled LR20 recycled road base.

Here at West Gippsland Mini Diggers we have recently been in Upper Beaconsfield. The old front fence was quite literally on its last legs, and in urgent need of an upgrade. We matched the new post and rail to existing fences on the property and then fixed mesh to the new fence to deter animals from letting themselves in to eat up the garden.
