Before and after of a pretty heavy crown reduction on this e.nicholii

This tree has had some significant branch failures in the past and with some rot and a few hollows starting, it needed a decent weight reduction and canopy reduction in order to retain it.

A much better option than removal, with proper maintenance pruning it will live on for decades to come.

After pruning this large Tuart (eucalyptus gomphocephala) John installed dynamic bracing between the major stems.

The canopy spreads over our clients house, lawn and car parking area.
This bracing provides peace of mind in that it will catch any major failures and restrict extreme movements in storm events, while still allowing the tree to put on growth naturally.

Dynamic bracing, as opposed to steel cable, is a great non-invasive method that we use wherever practical and applicable.

We love it when clients are happy to go that extra mile to retain trees around homes! (Trees are good!!)
