This large, mature multi-stemmed oak presented a complex removal due to its size, co-dominant stem structure, and proximity to surrounding trees, fencing, and landscaped areas. The tree showed significant structural defects within the central union, including included bark and decay, making it unsuitable for retention and increasing the risk of stem failure. To ensure the work was completed safely, the tree was dismantled in sections using advanced climbing and rigging techniques. The canopy was progressively reduced before each stem was individually removed in a controlled manner, with larger timber carefully lowered to protect the property below. Once the upper structure had been dismantled, the remaining stems were felled in a controlled sequence, leaving the site safe, tidy, and ready for the next stage of restoration. This project highlights the importance of careful planning, skilled climbing, and precision rigging when removing large, structurally compromised trees in confined residential settings. Great job team.

Today's climb was a Desert Ash. We uplifted and deadwooded the upper canopy to reduce branch weight while maintaining tree appearance.
