There’s something pretty satisfying about seeing brand-new solar panels catching the Queensland sun. ☀️

These are WINAICO 450W panels, recently installed by the Solar Power Gladstone team, and you can certainly see the shine on them in this photo.

Of course, they won’t stay looking this untouched forever. Gladstone will eventually throw a bit of dust, rain, pollen and everything else at them. 😂

But underneath that shine is the part that matters: panels positioned to get on with the job of turning all that sunshine into usable energy for the home.

We install plenty of solar systems, but there’s still something about standing back at the end of a job and seeing a roof full of fresh panels ready to go.

Shiny today. Working for years to come. ☀️

Father’s Day is this Sunday, and we reckon we’ve found a present Dad will appreciate long after the socks have disappeared. 😂☀️

Solar.

Just imagine the Father’s Day card...

“Dear Dad, thanks for everything. We got you lower power bills.”

Now THAT deserves a high five. 🙌

At Solar Power Gladstone, we can help Dad put that Queensland sunshine to work, generating more of his own electricity and potentially reducing what the household is pulling from the grid.

And if there’s one thing dads love more than telling everyone to turn the lights off when you leave the room, it’s seeing a smaller electricity bill arrive. 😂

So this Father’s Day, forget another pair of un**es.

Give Dad the power to proudly announce, “The sun paid for that.” ☀️

Happy Father’s Day for Sunday from the team at Solar Power Gladstone.

Spring is here, and in Gladstone that means one thing...

The sun is about to start earning its keep. ☀️😂

As the days get longer and the Queensland sunshine starts doing what it does best, it’s a great reminder of just how much energy is landing on our rooftops every day.

Of course, spring also means warmer afternoons, air conditioners starting to creep back on and the kids apparently forgetting that doors can actually be closed.

That’s where a well-designed solar system can make a real difference, helping your home generate more of its own power during those daylight hours.

At Solar Power Gladstone, we live in a pretty good part of the world for putting sunshine to work.

So welcome to spring, Gladstone.

More sunshine. Longer days. And plenty of free fuel arriving on the roof. ☀️🌱

Have you heard? Ergon Energy is offering three hours of FREE electricity every day. ⚡

Through its Solar Sharer (Tariff 12F), eligible households can access free electricity between 11am and 2pm, up to 24kWh per day. And you don’t need solar, just a smart meter.

Sounds great, but there is a catch.

Electricity used outside the free period is charged at different rates and if much of your power use happens during the evening peak, you could potentially end up paying more.

So before switching, take a good look at when your household uses power and make sure the numbers work for you.

Interested or want to know if it could work for your household? Give the team at Solar Power Gladstone a call and have a chat.

Free power is great. Saving money is even better.

If you’ve been around Gladstone for a while, there’s a good chance you’ve seen Jeremy and the Solar Power Gladstone ute out and about. ☀️

For Jeremy, solar isn’t about simply putting panels on a roof and moving on to the next job. It’s about understanding what people are trying to achieve, looking at how they actually use their power and finding a solution that makes sense for them.

From residential and commercial solar through to batteries and hybrid systems, there are more options available than ever, but that also means getting the right advice matters.

That’s where local knowledge and experience come in.

Solar Power Gladstone is local, Jeremy is local and he’s here for the long haul.

So if you’ve got questions about solar, batteries or what might work for your home or business, give Jeremy a call and have a chat. ☀️

How well do you know Gladstone? 👀

We had a pretty good view from the office while installing this system, although our office for the day happened to be a rooftop.

Looking northeast across the suburbs, you can see plenty of Gladstone stretching out below, with the harbour and industry in the distance.

So, can you guess where this photo was taken, or at least which Gladstone suburb we were working in?

While you’re working that out, in the foreground are 44 WINAICO solar panels, making up a 20.46kW system for another local customer.

It’s one of the perks of installing solar around Gladstone. Some days the rooftops give us a completely different perspective on the place we call home.

Drop your suburb guess below. ☀️

A great Sunday morning in the Gladstone sunshine! ☀️

Thousands of people hit the pavement on Sunday for the Port to Park Fun Run, bringing families, friends, businesses and community groups together for one of Gladstone’s great annual events.

For us at Solar Power Gladstone, this is the community we live and work in every day. We’re proud to be a local business helping Gladstone homes and businesses make the most of something else our region has plenty of… sunshine.

Congratulations to everyone who ran, walked, volunteered and supported the event.

And with a morning looking this good, we couldn’t help but think there was plenty of free energy going to waste while everyone else was busy burning theirs. ☀️🏃

We asked Murray to explain the difference between old solar technology and modern solar technology.

He said:

👉 "This is what we used to get excited about."

👉 "This is what we're excited about now."

Simple. No sales pitch. No complicated graphs. No technical jargon.

Just Murray, who looks like he's been personally overseeing the evolution of solar panels since electricity was invented, standing between two generations of solar technology.

The reality is that solar panels have come a long way. Higher efficiency, greater output and better performance mean today's systems can generate more power from the same amount of roof space than ever before.

And if you're wondering which panel Murray is pointing at with the biggest smile, that's probably a clue.☀️😄

Thinking about a home battery? It might be worth acting sooner rather than later.

The Federal Government's Cheaper Home Batteries Program has seen strong uptake across Australia, helping more households take control of their energy costs by storing excess solar power for use when they need it most.

More recently, the Government announced an expansion of solar incentives for larger commercial rooftop solar systems of up to 1 MW from October 2026, highlighting the ongoing focus on renewable energy and energy storage.

For homeowners, the message is straightforward.

Battery rebates are still available, but the value of those incentives reduces over time. If you've already been considering adding a battery to your existing solar system, waiting could mean receiving a smaller rebate than what is available today.

With feed-in tariffs continuing to fall and electricity prices remaining a concern for many households, more people are looking at batteries as a way to maximise their solar investment and reduce reliance on the grid.

If you're wondering whether a battery is right for your home, talk to the team at Solar Power Gladstone. We can help you understand the options available and whether a battery makes financial sense for your situation.
