Today marks a momentous occasion for the Gladstone Basketball - GABA, with the official sod turning ceremony of the new Gladstone Regional Indoor Sports Centre taking place this morning.
It was wonderful to see key representatives and supporters of the project in attendance, including Senator Anthony Chisholm, Glenn Butcher MP, and GM Hugh Raleigh from Basketball Queensland.
Calliope Plumbing Pty Ltd is incredibly proud to be a longstanding supporter of the association, volunteering across both junior and senior competitions over many years. We are also extremely proud to have been awarded the contract for the commercial plumbing works for the new Indoor Sports Centre alongside Paynters.
We would also like to acknowledge the dedication and unwavering support of the president Duane Jacobsen, and extended committee. The countless behind-the-scenes hours invested into bringing this project to life certainly do not go unnoticed or unrecognised.
A huge shout out to coach Raymond Cooper for the countless volunteer hours he has dedicated to guiding, mentoring, and developing players within the association. The success and growth of GABA community basketball is built on his commitment and willingness to give his time and knowledge so generously.
This facility will leave a lasting legacy for basketball and indoor sport across the Gladstone region, creating opportunities for future generations both on and off the court.
