The Mistake Everyone’s Making in the Heat

Here’s a nasty trick Brisbane weather plays on lawns: watering in the heat of the day or too lightly.

That combo leads to evaporation, shallow roots, and burned tips.

🔥 Instead:
- Water before 8 am when the soil can really soak it in and the morning is still somewhat cool
- Give it a good long drink — not little sips
- Don’t mow right after watering (you’ll leave track marks)
- Up your mulch game around garden edges to reduce evaporation

Your grass will thank you. 🙏

Did you know mowing Height Affects Root Depth

Cutting your grass too short (“scalping”) stresses the lawn. Keeping it a bit longer helps develop deeper roots, which means stronger grass during dry spells. However in this case, being so overgrown, the next best alternative is a cut reset.
