A bit of craftsmanship on display getting this one watertight and finished to a high standard for the legends at one of their shopping centres in Brisbane.

It was a pleasure working in with the HVAC and solar contractors to achieve the desired outcome for the client.

Friday creamer done and dusted ✅

This customer made the logical and smart decision to replace their decromastic roof with a nice new Colorbond roof to give them some peace of mind and a reprieve from the constant roof leaks and also improve the street appeal of the property at the same time.

Once a decromastic roof begins to spring a leak there’s not really any other option than a reroof. Particularly when it looks like there’s been a rave party taken place on the roof!

Love wrapping up large jobs on a Friday!

Thanks to our team of roofing legends who were involved on this install for our mates at the QEII Hospital. Always plenty of hoops to jump through on sites of this size and with a bit of adverse weather to contend with as well, the team still handed the job over on schedule and to a high standard 👏🏽

Sometimes a 5 ⭐️ google review just hits different 🙌🏽

In a heavy world full of negativity, particularly at the moment, fk this hit hard and provided a bit of reassurance that what we do works.

The people we employ as part of our work family, the systems and processes put in place to make it a safe work place and the quality of work we deliver to make us standout amongst our peers is all worth it when you get some recognition like this.

Asbestos roof replacement done and dusted in the heart of Broadbeach for one of our regular Body Corporate clients here on the Gold Coast.

There’s not a huge amount you can do once an asbestos roof reaches the end of its life expectancy and it starts to spring a leak here or there other than replace it 🤷🏽‍♂️

Any sealant/membrane repairs will likely only last 6-12 months as a result of poor bonding to the asbestos itself and once the screws start lifting it’s pretty much a wrap.

Personally, I’d rather be kicked square in the wheels than deal with asbestos (particularly when there’s not a ceiling below the roof but that’s a story for another day once I’ve mentally recovered enough to make light of the situation) however we worked in with a solid and professional company to remove and dispose of the nasty stuff on this one and we got the job done smoothly and without issue.

The team on site assure me the “viewing” at smoko and lunch at the Kurrawa Surf Club was a fair trade off for dealing with the asbestos. I’m sure they were referencing the ocean views 🙃

It’s been a while since we’ve installed some Zinc iron but there’s something about the simplicity of it that just “works” in a commercial environment 🤷🏽‍♂️

Neat. Sharp. Shiny. Clean. ✅

Job well done to the team on another tidy install and congratulations to the commercial client on a leak free roof to get you through what’s been a pretty hectic start to storm season.

A bit of an accountability post to show you the quality of roofing being served up in SEQ by qualified tradesmen charging circa $80 an hour and also how you respond to atrocious workmanship like this being completed by your business.

Do your best to not spew in your mouth when you take a look at this work that was completed by one of our full time subbys recently 🤮

On completion of this utter garbage, the client rightfully requested a supervisor attend site to go over some concerns with the work quality.

These photos were taken by our supervisor on his arrival to meet the client.

A pretty straight forward regutter resulted in -

- 45mm of water sitting in the gutter at the high point.
- Sealant oozing out of the joins with scratches on the newly installed gutter.
- The gutter sitting about 25mm of the fascia.
- The beads at the external corner having a gap big enough that a peregrine falcon could fly through it.
- Rivets and screws left on the driveway.
- Rust left all over the roof.
- Screws removed and not reinstated, leaving holes open to the elements.
-Stop ends cut with what appears to be a fkn butter knife🍴
- An attempt at sealing a conduit that looks like old mate squirted silicone into his hand and threw it at the pe*******on from 14m away. Amongst other rudeness 😔

Immediately on having these photos sent through, the subby was punted on the spot and asked to pack his s**t up and to fk off immediately.

We apologised to the client and ensured them this is not the way we operate.

We then ordered the entire gutter for a second time and had it delivered back to site within 48 hours.

We pulled the dog s**t work down and replaced it with new materials, at no cost to the client.

The client was stoked and shocked we actually put our hand up and owned our s**t. To the point a potential major problem resulted in a 5 ⭐️ google review and repeat work for the client and a neighbour.

Moral of the story -
Don’t employ fkn idiots whose care factor and standards don’t match your own.
Own your s**t! You can actually strengthen a relationship by taking accountability for mistakes.

Morals & integrity are more important than money as a business owner!

Cheeky little lay we wrapped up recently as part of a staged roof replacement at a retirement village in Southport.

4 buildings down and about 100 more to go 😓

This improvement is not just going to make the site look a lot more modern, it’s also going to prevent the leaks that the client was previously dealing with as well.
