With a career primarily rooted in entrepreneurship, and as a business owner for my entire working career, encompassing property design, development, construction, and consulting services, I have cultivated a comprehension of interpersonal dynamics and conflict resolution. This journey has honed my ability to navigate complex situations, emphasizing the significance of both counselling and mediatio
n in fostering constructive dialogues. Within my private practice, I am privileged to leverage my extensive experience in facilitating numerous mediations arising from the natural course of business interactions. Holding registration as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner with the Attorney General's Department and obtaining NMAS accreditation equips me with the necessary specialized credentials to focus on dispute resolution. This enables me to facilitate the outcomes of conflicts and disputes within my practice, with a focus on achieving fair and amicable outcomes for all parties involved, supporting their self-determination in conflict resolution. Through a blend of experiential learning and formal education, I have developed a nuanced understanding of mediation techniques and the art of fostering collaborative resolutions. My commitment to facilitating meaningful dialogue and fostering mutually beneficial outcomes underscores my approach to mediation services. During the inception of Shifting Tides Counselling & Mediation, I was approached to join two boards within the counselling sector:
ACA | Australian Counselling Association
- Not for profit, peak body for counsellors and psychotherapists | Australia | 16 000 members
- October 2023, I was elected President and Chair of the association
AIPC | Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors
- Primary education body for the counselling profession
- Governance Board member
What resonates with my life journey, is that everyone has something to work through at some point in their lives. Whether personally through the journey of self-discovery and improvement, relationship breakdowns and how to navigate the process moving forward or other conflicts that require specialist skills to support your choices and decisions, one thing is for certain, things happen, priorities shift and circumstances change and in many ways, they mirror the waterways of the coast that continually change with “Shifting Tides”. I look forward to supporting and working with you.
