Recently completed this JB Plate Boats fitout and what a build it turned out to be.

This vessel received a complete Garmin electronics package, lithium power system, solar charging, lighting, switching and trim control setup, built to handle everything from offshore fishing to extended days on the water.

A huge amount of planning and attention to detail went into this fitout and we’re proud of the final result.

A great week working aboard the beautiful Selene 59 Calypso.

As part of ongoing improvements to the vessel’s 24V Victron lithium power system, we completed a substantial solar upgrade to increase charging performance and off-grid capability.

• Increased solar capacity from 720W to 2145W
• Supplied and installed new Victron MPPT charge controllers
• Expanded the vessel’s existing 24V Victron lithium power system with over 1.4kW of additional solar generation
• Reconfigured, tested and commissioned the complete solar charging system

The additional solar capacity will significantly improve energy independence and reduce reliance on engine and generator charging while cruising.

Always a privilege to work on vessels of this calibre and deliver reliable, high performance power solutions for extended cruising.

This beautiful Hanse 385 suffered a direct lightning strike during the storms earlier this year, leaving some electronics completely inoperative while others lost communication across the vessel’s legacy SimNet network.

Following extensive fault finding, we replaced the damaged equipment and upgraded the vessel to a new NMEA 2000 network, including:

• B&G Zeus3S chartplotter
• B&G WS320 wireless wind system
• B&G Triton² displays
• B&G NAC 3 autopilot system
• B&G V60 VHF radio
• B&G NAIS 500 AIS transponder
• ZG100 GPS and heading sensor
• DST810 depth, speed and temperature transducer
• Complete NMEA 2000 backbone redesign

One of the most heavily affected areas was the masthead wind instrumentation and associated cabling. Upgrading to the wireless WS320 removed the mast data cable, simplifying the network and eliminating a direct connection between the masthead and the vessel’s NMEA 2000 system. While no vessel is lightning proof, reducing conductive pathways can help minimise the likelihood of network equipment being affected by future lightning events.

A great result for the owners and another yacht back on the water with a fully functional electronics suite.

Just wrapped up a clean and capable power upgrade on this beautiful Fairway Sedan

880W of low profile solar neatly mounted up top, feeding a Victron SmartSolar 150/70 MPPT to keep the house batteries working hard while the boat is doing what it was built for. Even at the dock with shading it’s already pushing serious charge.

A Victron MultiPlus II 12/3000/120 paired with a Digital Multi Control delivers true 230V power offshore, seamless shore power changeover, and up to 120A of automatic battery charging. Comfortable cruising without relying on a generator.

The system is rounded out with Victron battery monitoring and a Bluetooth SmartShunt, giving full real time visibility of solar input, charging current, and overall battery health right from the phone.
