💦🧪 HYDROCHLORIC ACID – WHAT DOES IT DO IN YOUR POOL? 🧪💦

Hydrochloric acid, also known as pool acid, is an important part of keeping your pool water balanced and swim-ready! 🏊‍♀️

So, what is it used for? 🤔

👉 LOWERS HIGH pH – Helps bring your pool water back into the correct balance.

👉 HELPS LOWER HIGH ALKALINITY – When alkalinity is too high, hydrochloric acid can help bring it down.

👉 KEEPS WATER BALANCED – Properly balanced water helps reduce issues like scaling, cloudy water and potential damage to pool surfaces and equipment.

💡 POOL TIP: Don't add acid just because you think your pool needs it! Always test your water first and follow the product instructions.

⚠️ SAFETY FIRST: Hydrochloric acid is a strong chemical. Handle it carefully, store it safely and NEVER mix it with chlorine or other pool chemicals.

💦👃 THE STRONGER THE CHLORINE SMELL… THE DIRTIER YOUR POOL MIGHT BE! 👃💦

Think that strong “chlorine smell” means your pool is super clean? 🤔 Think again!

A strong chlorine smell can actually be a sign that your water needs some attention.

🧪 When chlorine reacts with sweat, sunscreen, body oils and other contaminants, it forms chloramines — and these are often responsible for that strong chlorine odour.

So if your pool smells strongly of chlorine, it doesn't necessarily mean there’s too much chlorine… it could mean your water has too many contaminants hanging around! 😬

✅ Keep your water balanced
✅ Keep your pool clean
✅ Test regularly
✅ Shock when needed

💙 A clean, balanced pool should smell fresh — not like a public swimming pool!

Not sure what’s happening with your water? Bring a sample into Hectic Pools for a FREE computerised water test and we’ll check it for you! 🙌

💦 Tips to Avoid a Green Pool 💦

A green pool doesn’t happen overnight — it’s usually caused by poor circulation or unbalanced water. Stay ahead of algae with these simple tips:

✅ Continuous circulation – Keep water moving so chemicals can do their job properly.
✅ Regular water testing – Balanced water stops algae before it starts.
✅ Clean filtration – A clean filter removes dirt and algae spores effectively.
✅ Phosphate removal – Starve algae of the nutrients it needs to grow.
✅ Automated scrubbing – Robotic cleaners help prevent build-up on walls and floors.

A little prevention now means crystal clear swimming later ✨

🏊‍♀️💦 POOL SAFETY CHECK! 💦🏊‍♂️

Before everyone jumps in, let’s make sure your pool area is SAFE, SECURE & READY FOR FUN! 👇

🚨 CPR SIGN UP?
Make sure your CPR sign is clearly visible and easy to find in an emergency.

🚪 CHECK THE GATE!
Is it self-closing and self-latching? Give it a quick check to make sure it’s working properly.

🏃 NO RUNNING!
Wet tiles + running = accidents waiting to happen! 🚫

🥂 NO GLASS!
Keep glassware away from the pool area. One broken glass can turn pool time into clean-up time!

👀 SUPERVISE, SUPERVISE, SUPERVISE!
Never take your eyes off children around the water.

✅ A few simple checks can help keep your pool area safer for everyone.

Have you done your pool safety check lately? 💦

🐾💦 Happy World Animal Day from Hectic Pools! 🐶🐴

It’s World Animal Day, so we’re celebrating some of our furry, feathered and scaly friends who LOVE the water! 🌊🐾

🐕 Dogs – Many pups can’t resist a splash, especially on a hot day!
🦆 Ducks – Water is their happy place! From ponds to pools, they’re natural swimmers.
🐘 Elephants – These gentle giants love bathing, swimming and spraying themselves with water.
🐴 Horses – Many horses enjoy paddling, splashing and even swimming when given the opportunity.
🐸 Frogs – Pools, ponds and puddles… water is an important part of their world.
🐢 Turtles – Many turtle species spend a large part of their lives in and around water.

And while we love seeing animals enjoying the water, remember that your backyard pool isn't a safe habitat for wildlife. 🐾💙 Keep pool fences secure, provide safe ways for small animals to escape, and always supervise pets around the pool.

At Hectic Pools, we’re all about keeping your pool clean, sparkling and ready for the humans! 😎🏊‍♀️
