🏁🏎️ TEAMWORK. PLANNING. STRATEGY. THE RACE IS ON! 🏎️🏁

The engines are about to roar as the 2026 Gold Coast 500 takes over the streets of Surfers Paradise 23–25 October! 🔥

At OSM Concrete, we know that delivering a successful project takes a dedicated team, careful planning, clever strategy and the ability to make quick decisions when everything changes. Much like Supercars, it's not all about speed.

From the initial planning and preparation to coordinating crews, equipment and schedules, teamwork is everything. And just like on the racetrack, even the best-laid plans can change in an instant. It's how you adapt, work together and keep moving forward that makes the difference.

🏁 Different tracks. Different challenges. Same winning mindset.

As the Gold Coast gears up for another spectacular weekend of Supercars action, the OSM team wishes all the drivers, crews and spectators a fantastic event!

🏆 Here's to great teamwork, smart strategy and an unforgettable GC500!

When you've got a full schedule of concrete works planned and Mother Nature has other ideas! ☔😂

We know how important the rain is and there's nothing we can do but carrying on with prep and planning work best we can.

🌿 SPRING PROJECTS ARE UNDERWAY ON THE GOLD COAST

With the warmer months approaching, now is a great time to start planning those concrete projects that have been sitting on the to-do list.

Whether it’s replacing tired or cracked concrete, upgrading a driveway, improving pathways and access, or preparing outdoor areas for summer, good concrete work starts well below the finished surface.

At OSM Concrete, we take care of the whole process — from removal and excavation through to base preparation, reinforcement, drainage and falls, placement and the final finish.

We work across the Gold Coast on:

🔹 Driveways & accessways
🔹 Footpaths & walkways
🔹 Pool surrounds & outdoor areas
🔹 Civil concrete, Kerbs & ramps
🔹 Commercial & strata concrete
🔹 Concrete removal & replacement
🔹 Large-scale residential projects

If you've got a concrete project in mind for spring or summer, now is a good time to get the ball rolling.

There’s nothing quite like a pour day! 👷‍♂️🦺

After all the planning, excavation, preparation, formwork and reinforcement, this is where it all starts coming together.

A successful concrete pour is all about good preparation, good timing and an experienced crew working together — from the moment the concrete arrives through to placing, levelling and finishing.

What’s underneath your concrete is just as important as the finished surface you see.

Another City of Gold Coast project completed ✔️

Our OSM Concrete team has recently completed pedestrian pathway and kerb ramp upgrades across five separate sites in Hollywell for the City of Gold Coast.

The works included removal of existing concrete, excavation and base preparation, construction of new pathways and kerb ramps, concrete tie-ins and reinstatement — all while working around existing roads, properties, services and public areas.

The finished result provides smooth, durable and accessible pedestrian connections that integrate neatly with the surrounding streetscape.

Multi-site projects like Hollywell are a great example of the council and civil concrete work our team delivers across the Gold Coast.

Concrete that works with the landscape 🌿

Concrete isn't only functional. With thoughtful design, it can become a feature that complements the home and its surroundings.

This project we completed in Parkwood QLD is a great example of the variety we can achieve with concrete — from sloping and curved pathways to landscaped steps, pool surrounds and entertaining areas, all designed to flow naturally through the property.

At OSM Concrete, we can help create concrete solutions that work with the shape, levels and character of your property — whether it's a straightforward path or something a little more unique.

💧 WET vs DRY — Which is your favourite?

Is it worth the cost to seal exposed agg concrete?

To see the difference, these examples show three colourings — Charcoal, Natural Grey and Warm Earth — all dry and wet.

When dry, exposed aggregate generally has a softer, more natural appearance. When wet (or sealed) creates a deeper, richer finish.

☀️ Dry: softer, more natural tones
💧 Wet: deeper colour and greater contrast

✨ Sealed: options are available to enhance the aggregate and create a richer finished appearance

Choosing exposed aggregate? It’s not just about picking a colour you like! 🏡

The final look of exposed aggregate comes from the combination of the stone AND the oxide colour in the concrete — and the same aggregate can look completely different depending on how those two are paired.

There are a few other things worth considering:

• How the colour works with your home, roof and landscaping
• The size and amount of stone exposed
• How different the aggregate looks wet, dry and sealed
• Whether lighter or darker colours are best for the area
• Natural variations between batches

And here on the Gold Coast, colour isn't purely cosmetic either. Darker finishes can get noticeably hotter in our summer sun — something worth thinking about for pool surrounds and other areas where you'll be walking barefoot. On the flipside - very white mixes show the dirt more.

We've put together a guide explaining what to look for before you make your final choice:
