Spectech were contacted by the body corporate of a residential complex in Brisbane city, seeking assistance regarding the problem of water leaking into adjacent units caused by planter boxes. Remedial waterproofing works were carried out by Spectech to rectify these issues.

Our team removed the existing coating from the planter box walls and substrate, providing a clean surface, serving as a solid foundation for the subsequent coating application. To ensure protection against moisture, we applied an epoxy v***r barrier; this primer not only acts as a shield against moisture but also enhances adhesion and extends the overall lifespan of the coating system.

Every joint and visible crack received treatment using a specialised bond breaker. This will effectively help prevent future cracking, resulting in a smooth surface that significantly enhances the longevity of the planter box. Lastly, a UV-stable polyurethane system was applied, this coating solution offers exceptional durability and provides long-term protection against various environmental factors, including water, sunlight, and physical impact. This Brisbane city apartment block had been experiencing water ingress issues throughout the front entryway, causing damage to the exterior stairwell and nearby areas. Spectech were contacted to address the problem and to provide a durable, and effective waterproofing solution.
