Poolside deck complete ✔️🏊‍♂️

This outdoor area was waterproofed before tiling, using Australian standards approved primer and membranes to handle weather & chemical exposure.

Finished with 60x60 grey travertine look outdoor tiles for a clean, modern look that ties in perfectly with the home and pool 👌

Waterproofing Matters 💧

There are many different primers and waterproofing membranes on the market, and each one is designed for specific areas and substrates. Using the correct system is critical to ensuring long term performance and preventing future issues.

In the first two videos of this bathroom, we used:
• Durotech AWR – a water-based primer
• Durotech 007FC – a water-based waterproofing membrane

The final two photos show a deck that will be tiled and exposed to chlorine or saltwater. In these environments, selecting the right products is even more important to avoid failures down the track.

For this application, we used:
• Primer: Duromix Hybuild – a two-component water-based epoxy primer
• Membrane: Duroflex Tank – a two-component polymer-modified cementitious waterproofing membrane

Cutting corners on waterproofing can lead to costly problems. Using the correct products for the right application ensures durability, compliance, and peace of mind.

✅ Project Completed
This extension was finished with 1200x200 Wood grain porcelain tiles, providing the natural warmth of timber with the strength and low maintenance of tile.

Due to the installation being laid over two separate slabs, careful consideration was given to the placement and treatment of expansion joints to ensure both durability and a seamless finish.

The result is a functional and stylish outdoor space that will stand the test of time.
