Dacelo Residence.

Perched above Airlie Beach with panoramic views of the Whitsunday Coast, Dacelo is a retreat designed for renewal, gathering and comfort.

From arrival, a defined approach leads guests from the driveway through the entry, across reflective water, and outward to the ocean horizon, a view corridor that established the home’s spatial direction and sense of anticipation.

Set within the coastal bushland at Agnes Water, this residence responds directly to its natural context, nestling into the landscape while opening toward distant ocean views. A warm material palette and low, articulated forms allow the home to sit quietly within its surroundings creating a strong connection to place.

Concept images of the master suite within a major alterations and additions project to an existing Sovereign Islands residence.

Situated in the hinterland of Mudgeeraba, this project responds to the site’s natural topography and vegetated surrounds through a grounded architectural language.

The alterations & additions introduce clarity and spatial flow, expanding the living areas outward to engage with the environment & skyline views.

Framed outdoor spaces and subtle sculptural gestures reinforce a connection to place while respecting the original structure.

The Shed.

This project reimagines the typical shed or garage as an integrated architectural element within the landscape of the Gold Coast Hinterland.

The structure is embedded into the hillside, with a planted green roof that allows it to visually recede and blend with the surrounding terrain. The curved form follows the site’s natural contours, softening its presence and reinforcing a sense of connection to place.

Designed with sustainability in mind, the shed incorporates integrated water tanks, rainwater harvesting and passive thermal performance strategies. The open courtyard brings in natural light and ventilation while framing distant skyline views of the Gold Coast, creating a space that feels considered and calm.

Before the 3D models, before the renders, there’s this. A basic concept sketch for an upcoming alterations and additions for a home we are working on.

Sketching lets us test, challenge, and explore ideas freely. It’s how we understand the site, shape the flow of a space, and unlock possibilities that might otherwise be missed.
