BUYER BEWARE - FAKE 044 PUMPS

It's come to our attention that fake Bosch '044' fuel pumps are being advertised and sold as genuine to unsuspecting customers.

It is disappointing and in the end costly for you and it is damaging the hard earned reputation of reliability, performance and quality for the pump.

The only way to be sure of getting genuine Bosch is to BUY DIRECT FROM BOSCH, from a BOSCH AGENT or from otherwise REPUTABLE DISTRIBUTORS & RETAILERS.

We recently purchased from one internet mass market retailer the pump in the photo, advertised as Genuine Bosch, to test its authenticity. To us there are many tell-tale signs that it's not genuine but to most end-customers it may not be apparent. These pumps can often flow well when first installed but then rapidly deteriorate as they prematurely wear out, sometimes actually dissolving internally!
Sadly, coming in a box with Bosch branding does not guarantee a part to be genuine. In some cases the image in the online store is of a genuine part but what the customer receives in the mail is a fake.

If in doubt, purchase direct from Bosch, a Bosch agent or reputable Bosch distributor or retailer. A cheap fake will end up costing more in time and breakdowns and if unlucky, engine damage; better to buy genuine to start with.
