As we continue to grow, we are currently seeking an experienced Cabinetmaker/Joiner to join our factory-based team.
Job Description:
As a Cabinetmaker/Joiner, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling custom cabinets other joinery items according to specifications. Working in our well-equipped factory, you will utilise your extensive knowledge of joinery techniques and tools to ensure the highest quality standards are met. Attention to detail, precision, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are crucial for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, sketches, and drawings to understand project requirements
- Select and prepare materials, including wood, laminate, and hardware, ensuring they are of suitable quality
- Operate various woodworking machinery and power tools, such as saws, drills, planers, and sanders
- Cut, shape, and assemble components using traditional and modern joinery techniques
- Apply finishes, including staining, varnishing, and painting, to achieve desired aesthetics
- Ensure work is completed within specified timeframes without compromising quality
- Collaborate with fellow cabinetmakers, joiners, and other team members to ensure smooth production processes
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety guidelines and procedures
- Assist in training and mentoring junior cabinetmakers or apprentices, as required
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Cabinetmaker/Joiner in a factory or similar setting
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings
- Strong knowledge of joinery construction
- Extensive experience operating woodworking machinery and power tools
- Skilled in using hand tools and precision measuring instruments
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team, demonstrating excellent time management skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to adapt to changing project requirements
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
