QLD Smoke Alarm Alert! Final Countdown to 2027
Queensland has Australia's toughest smoke alarm laws! By January 1, 2027, ALL private homes, townhouses, and units (including owner-occupied) must comply with the final stage of the legislation.

Key Requirements:
Photoelectric Only: Alarms must be photoelectric (better at detecting smouldering fires).

Interconnected: When one alarm sounds, all alarms must sound, giving everyone maximum time to escape.

Correct Placement: Required in every bedroom, in hallways connecting bedrooms, and on every level.

Landlords and homes being sold/leased must already comply (since 2022). Don't wait—upgrade early to avoid potential penalties and keep your family safe!
