Proud moment for us at Thomson Airborne.

Our Cessna Caravan VH-JOZ has supported Q-CTRL on multiple test flights in Griffith as they continue developing their next-generation quantum navigation technology. JOZ has now been part of several rounds of data collection and airborne testing.

It’s exciting to see Australian innovation featured on a global stage, and even more special that the work happening here in Griffith has been highlighted in The Wall Street Journal.

We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Accounts/Payroll Officer to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a well-presented all-rounder to utilise their initiative and skills. Hours are negotiable.

Reporting to the Managing Director and CEO, your daily duties will include (but are not limited to):

· Accounts payable and receivable functions.
· Payroll processing and Payroll Tax.
· Ensure the timely preparation weekly, monthly and EOY financial duties.
· BAS/IAS preparation (in conjunction with the external accountants)
· Provide support to Managers and other employees.
· Liaise with customers, answer incoming calls & Customer Service
· Banking and general office errands
· General administration duties

To be the successful applicant you will require the following skills:

· Proven experience in bookkeeping (including accounts payable, receivable, statutory requirements and payroll).
· Experience in managing bank accounts and reconciliation.
· Ability to prepare/present management reports.
· Strong understanding of accounting software MYOB and Excel
· Clear communication skills both written and verbal.
· High attention to detail and accuracy.
· The ability to work without supervision, prioritise workload.
· Positive work ethic.
· Self-motivated and willing to learn
· Effective time management and the ability to work to a deadline
· Happy to be a real team player and help in all areas of the office
· A positive, professional and approachable attitude

The following attributes would also be desirable:

· Experience using MYOB accounting software
· Exposure to aviation or agriculture industries
· Certificate IV in accounting

To be successful in this role you must have the at least 3 years' experience in a similar position, the ability to juggle multiple tasks in a professional manner and show a willingness to learn new skills and acquire new knowledge.

Remuneration will be negotiated according to demonstrated skills and experience.

Hi! 👋

We at Thomson Aviation are looking for a Loader for the upcoming summer season. We use airplanes to do agricultural spraying and fertilizing. A loader is the person who fills the airplane with chemicals/fertilizer/fuel and is the pilot's partner.

Our base is located in Griffith, NSW, and we can also offer free accommodation at the base. The area we service with our airplanes is large and sometimes we will stay away from base. The candidate should ideally have an MR driver's license (truck license), which is a plus, but for the right candidate, we can help obtain this license. A forklift license is also a good plus. Experience working with different machinery will be an advantage

The initial wage is $32 per hour + super, and with good work, it can increase. Work is available from October to March. The job is casual, and hours range between 35–80 hours per week. Farm days can also be counted.

Aircraft Loader (Griffith based)

Thomson Airborne have an available position for an Aircraft Loader. The role will require the sucessfull application to be physically fit and able to work outdoors.

The successfull applicant will take part in a 2 week trial then moving to a casual basis.

Minimum qualifications:
Must have current MR or HR drivers license
Must have own accommodation in Griffith
Must have own vehicle to get to/from work
Must be available to start early and finish late, weekend work is also available
Must have no prior convictions in order to satisfy aviation security clearance requirements
Must be mechanically minded, able to carry out basic maintenace tasks to vehicles and equipment

Desirable qualifications:
Previous experience loading aircraft
Experience driving a forklift or telehandler
Chemcert accreditation
Previous agricultural or on farm experience
Dangerous goods cerificate
Welding or mechanical experience
