With all the wet weather and flooding we've experienced the past week, the role of your RCD has never been more important.

RCDs (Residual Current Devices) help protect your home. In the case of a faulty appliance or wiring or something like water affecting your home, these little devices will disconnect the power to help reduce the chance of someone getting an electrical shock.

Not all homes have adequate RCDs installed so it’s best to get a licensed electrician assess your switchboard to ensure it is offering the appropriate protection for your household.

Let's be honest, pics of carpark lighting isn't so impressive but the savings to your business certainly can be! We've recently worked at The Barracks Paddington to upgrade the lighting in their car park and fire stairs incorporating LED lights with built in sensors that dim when not in use.

Outdoor fans are becoming commonplace, especially in our Brisbane climate. Outdoor fans face much different operating conditions to their indoor counterparts so make sure you think about the following when selecting your outdoor fan:

🌧️ What outdoor conditions and elements will the fan be exposed to (sun, seaspray and rain will all affect the type of fan that you can utilise and its longevity)
💨 How much air does the need to move and in what sized space?
📍 Where would you like to position the fan and what is surrounding it?

Landlords are being encouraged to act now as the deadline for residential rental properties to comply with smoke alarm legislation looms. From 1 January 2022, residential rental properties MUST have interconnected, photoelectric smoke alarms installed in every bedroom, in hallways and on every level.
