Little wild one
give yourself time,

give yourself grace -

your life is your own
your life’s not a race.

Always remember
to dance in the rain,

chase after dragonflies,
root to what sustains.

The world will try to convince you
to be the first and the best -

to ignore all your feelings,
all resistance suppressed.

But, little one know this
at the end of your days

you’ll wish you had anchored
to your own unique pace.

Walk in your way,
rest when you need

give yourself time
set yourself free.

National Reconciliation Week 2021 is coming up on 27 MAY TO 3 JUNE.
This year has a great theme:
MORE THAN A WORD. RECONCILIATION TAKES ACTION
and you can all be a part of launching National Reconciliation Week 2021 by uploading your Acknowledgement of Country.

It is easy just write or record your Acknowledgement and post to social media at 9am AEST on Thursday 27 May using the hashtags

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF COUNTRY IS IMPORTANT for different reason but to me it raises awareness and helps with understanding of culture, while also acknowledging the traditional owners of the local Country on which we live, work, play and learn. That there is an ongoing and strong connection for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to the land.
A question often asked is who can give an Acknowledgement of Country? The answer is easy -Everyone. It can be given by both non-Indigenous people and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

WHAT DO I SAY?
This suggested wording will help you capture your Acknowledgement of Country.
“This National Reconciliation Week, I acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the Land on which I stand. I acknowledge the (people) of the (nation) and pay my respects to Elders past and present.”

However, Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander people may wish to also acknowledge their own families and Nations.

Remember to post to social media at 9am AEST on Thursday 27 May using the hashtags
