FLOOD UPDATE: 2pm 25/02/22. Normanby Bridge and Pengelly's Bridge will close in the next 60 minutes. People wishing to travel south will no longer be able to do so.

UPDATE 12.30pm 25/2/22:
Inglewood Bridge: Closed. Bruce Highway at Inglewood Bridge closed, detours in place.
Normanby Bridge: closure imminent between 2pm and 4pm.
Cedar Pocket Dam: flooding is occurring in the Cedar Pocket dam catchment area and this may impact on outflows downstream. Residents downstream of the dam should stay vigilant and monitor changes in conditions. (Record flood event).
River height Gympie 13.4meters and rising.

UPDATE 11.15am 25/2/22:
Significant amount of fast moving water is now across Tin Can Bay Road, residents of Cooloola Coast please do not try and access Gympie.
Bells Bridge: Closure Imminent.
Normanby Bridge: Actively monitoring, anticipating closure early this afternoon.
Gympie CBD: The latest advice from the Bureau of Meteorology suggest flooding in Gympieβs CBD is now imminent.
Predictions indicate this may happen later this afternoon or tonight.
Latest information from BOM suggests a river height exceeding 17 meters is anticipated at Kidd Bridge.
Council is advising you to refine any emergency evacuation procedures you may have, if you havenβt already.

River height steady at 11.4meters with rises expected after heavy falls in catchment area (240ml at Moy Pocket)
- Imbil town bridge closure imminent
- Waste management facilities at Goomeri, Kilkivan, Imbil and Widgee closed.
- Goomeri library closed.

The Gympie region has overnight experienced a significant amount of rain, particularly in our western areas, Mary Valley and Gympie proper.
Reports of up to 190mm with in two hours at Kandanga and 175mm north of Tansey within the hour means the increase risk of flash flooding and dangerous driving conditions.
Kidd Bridge is closed. Please drive to the conditions and if it's flooded, forget it.
