As many of you know, we travel absolutely everywhere, often well beyond this beautiful region to look after our customers. With the kilometres we clock up every week, our vehicles certainly earn their keep. Like shoes will like to share the wear.
Investing in our fleet means we can continue providing fast, reliable service. We collected our newest addition this week and we will soon have it sign written. Here is the vehicle sign writing proof.

Before we tell you our exciting news let us tell you about Todd.

He works on a casual basis within the business and is always available 24/7.

Todd drops whatever he is doing to assist Stewart as needed. He has a double diploma in IT and has had to fix some crucial issues computer wise in the business over the years.

Todd is multi-talented, he fixes small issues with the vehicles and often takes them to Tim (our ace mechanic) at Cooloola Coast Service Centre, when they need servicing (every few months) or other mechanical work.

Todd helps out delivering locks and keys far and wide at all hours of the day and night. He also does those little things like mowing the lawns behind the shop and a million other everyday tasks. He assists Stewart with lifting and moving safes in the early hours of the morning.

Todd is a kind and caring person who always does the right thing and is a real asset to the business.

If you Google “Locksmith near me”, there is a real possibility that the first locksmith you see is a not a real locksmith.

Remember, trade qualified locksmiths arrive in a branded car and have the correct credentials on them. If in doubt…. go to the MLAA member directory.

Today our star apprentice, Kaelum, heads off to Brisbane TAFE for another 4 week block of training, and it’s safe to say the workshop won’t be the same without him.

Since joining our team, Kaelum has consistently impressed us with his positive attitude and genuine willingness to learn. He approaches every task with enthusiasm takes pride in his work, and is always ready to lend a hand whenever and wherever it’s needed. Whether he’s assisting customers or supporting Stewart and the team.

Over the years we’ve watched Kaelum grow into an outstanding apprentice and soon to be tradesman. His skills, confidence, and professionalism continue to shine through each day. Those qualities are hard to find and impossible to replace. He has become a valued member of our team, earning the respect of his workmates, the appreciation of our customers, and the trust of everyone around him.

His commitment to becoming the best locksmith he can be is something we’re very proud of. Apprentices like Kaelum are a reminder of why investing in the next generation of tradespeople matters so much.

Over the years, Kaelum has also had the privilege of learning from two long-standing master locksmiths, Geoff from Heritage Locksmiths as well as Stewart. Between them, they bring almost 100 years of knowledge, craftsmanship and experience to the trade, and both speak very highly of Kaelum. To be mentored by men if this calibre is an opportunity few apprentices receive, and they have both been impressed with Kaelum’s eagerness to learn, intelligence and commitment to mastering the trade.

While we’ll certainly miss him over the next 4 weeks, we couldn’t be happier to see him taking another step towards becoming a fully qualified locksmith.

Enjoy your time at TAFE, Kaelum. Keep up the great work, make the most of every opportunity, and know that we’re all looking forward to you coming back. You’ve earned the recognition that comes your way, and we have no doubt you have a bright future ahead. We’re proud to have you as part of our team.

Have you met Adam, yet?

He’s the friendly face you’ll often see in our shop-and one of the driving forces behind what we do every day.

Adam joined us last year and to say we were lucky would be an understatement. From day one, he’s brought a level of mechanical aptitude that’s genuinely hard to find. Whether it’s precision lock work, bench work or problem-solving on the fly, Adam moves with speed, confidence, and attention to detail that sets a high standard.

But what really stands out isn’t just his skill- it’s his attitude. Adam treats every customer with genuine respect and takes pride in making sure they feel looked after. The same goes for his teammates, he’s reliable, supportive, and always willing to step in where needed.

Adam’s loyalty to Stewart and the business speaks volumes about his character. He shows up to work, committed, dependable, honest, reliable and invested in doing things the right way. He takes ownership of his work, backs the team, and consistently goes that extra mile without needing to be asked.
