Another Fence Makeover
We removed the drummy render and bricked up the fence to create a clean, level finish. The new brickwork was rendered, and the existing painted render was key coated before applying a trowel-on texture coat in Monument. We also installed Villaboard behind the timber slats, painting it in Monument to enhance privacy. The combination of timber and dark tones really brings out a modern, stylish look — proof that the right colours in the right places can make a big impact.

I was originally called in for a different task — the owner planned to remove the old fence completely. After explaining that I could restore and modernise it instead, I was given the go-ahead.

The process started with a high-pressure clean to remove dirt, moss, and loose paint. I then layed new bricks and installed a new letterbox before applying an acrylic render, preparing it for paint.

the owner was amazed by the result and glad to have saved both time and money compared to a full replacement.

Some houses can show there age even after being rendered, but with the right updates,they can look new again.
For this transformation we replaced the old porcelain vents with new ones and removed the dated cladding beneath the windows. After a thorough pressure clean,the house was coated in a premium acrylic render and finished with a texture coating in the client’s chosen colour.
The end result? A stunning,refreshed exterior that looks as good as new!

Another mediterranean inspiration with subtle imperfections, wall moulded hoods that i made from a section of PVC pipe and fibreglass mesh. I made these on a previous job and there catching on. The finish is to colour of preference and is applied with a sheep skin mitten to create an additional swirl to tie it all in together.

Render will change your house dramatically and anyone in the trade will cover your bricks giving you that wow factor. But it’s the finer details that makes for a long lasting and amazing finish.
For example, weep holes, expansion joints, angle beads cut and leveled to the millimeter, fibreglass mesh laid in the walls where areas may crack due to poor brick work, cover windows and all areas the list goes on.
There is never any short cuts taken at Halliwell Cement Rendering giving you a clean job made to last.
I got up close for some photos the past few weeks to show the finer details in all my work.
