A helical staircase is the result of collaboration between multiple craftsmen, each contributing to its sculptural form.

The rolled staircase must land perfectly to its frame opening, while the plaster it is clad in must adhere to its structure beneath.

Whilst the staircase presents as a form that appears effortless, it is a result of the collective skill and coordination of those whom created it.

Set within a streetscape of traditional terrace houses, our recent South Yarra project presents a façade composition that balances natural materiality with contemporary form.
