1. Work out your Niche market and stay in your Lane and be the best at it - Niche rhythms with Rich. Develop Systems and Processes to control daily, weekly, and monthly transactions within your Niche Market.
2. Know your KPI’s figures and maintain them by keeping your eye on your ‘dashboard’. Know which ‘levers’ you need to pull when veering off track, to get back on track. Without your KPI’s you’re driving in the dark without the headlights on. Know your Business Financial IQ.
3. ‘Play the Way You Train’. There is a name for being the Best, and that’s being PROFESSIONAL. Be PROFESSIONAL with the way you present yourself and your vehicles. Be PROFESSIONAL in the way you communicate with your Suppliers, especially with your Team and Clients. Be Professional with everything that you do. Because Marketing is everything that you do.
4. Keep your Business simple, don’t try and do ‘Specialist’ jobs ie; Shower renos or Re-Roof. Unless your good at it, as per Item 1. Learn to say NO to jobs and stay in your ‘lane’.
5. Do Jobs that you know you’ll get paid for ASAP on completion. Always collect a Deposit for any Quoted jobs. Never give out Verbal Quotes, always write a small note, maybe on back off Business Card and take a photo duplicate for yourself.
6. Learn to SACK Clients that aren’t worth the hassle. Your business doesn’t need toxic clients that consume time, energy and $$$’s.
7. Provide your Client with the BEST Service Experience you can. Make it a WOW experience by using little 1%’ers, SMS when you’re on the way, or if you’re running behind schedule. Leave a Thank You note or gift. Use a Tool Mat on the floor, take of your boots when entering their premises etc.
8. Be a Leader for your Team; Show them the way, provide the business Vision. Inform them of the business direction. Inspire them to be better people, broaden their trade skills. Their goals should run parallel to the business Vision, both headed in the direction of success. Your Team is your Business most important asset.
9. With ‘finger-on-the-pulse’ Management, learn to control your Business. If you stay in control and on Top, it’s easy to maintain. It’s called Momentum. Keep that momentum up with persistent and consistent Management.
10. Market your business, get the name out there in the market Place. If you don’t, it’s like ‘winking at a girl in the dark’- No one will know you exist!
