I did a course on nutritional farming about 6 years ago. Building up the microbes and mycorrhizal fungi is quite easy and so impressive to see the extra water holding capacity. When I started water would just run off the clay soil here in Urangan/Wondunna, but now I can poor on a watering can without the rose and it will just sink into the soil. For 1% increase in soil carbon every square meter will hold 17 more litres of water. There is no better way to mitigate flood, drought and climate change.

10 years ago, Jerry from ABC Gardening Australia (https://www.abc.net.au/gardening/jerry-coleby-williams/9423816) helped Transition Town Hervey Bay with a plant and seed swap. The idea was to build capacity and resistance to outside shock. He gave us food plants to propagate and distribute through the community which we did. In light of current events, is there any interest in starting local food plant swap? I still have some of those plants that originally came from Jerry's garden and I am happy to share, (I only have a few so first come first serve - based in HB).
My current focus is more on the economic troubles that we face, because while the masses become unemployed they are less able to focus on environmental issues. If you are interested please check out Hinkler for UBI (https://www.facebook.com/hinklerubi/)
I think the admin of Transition Maryborough and SustainaBundy will also reactivate their pages.
