🚽 SEPTIC SMART TIP — THINK BEFORE YOU PLANT🍅🥕🍋!

Did you know your septic tank and trenches are not the place for your veggie patch or fruit trees?

Avoid planting edible plants such as vegetables, herbs, fruit trees or anything else you plan to eat over or immediately around your septic tank or disposal trenches.

Why? 👇

💧 The soil around trenches receives treated wastewater.
🦠 It may still contain bacteria and other contaminants you don't want near food crops.
⛏️ Digging and gardening can also damage the underground system.
🌳 Fruit tree roots can invade pipes and trenches looking for moisture.

✅ Best practice: Keep septic and trench areas for suitable shallow-rooted, non-edible plants or grass — and grow your food garden well away from the wastewater disposal area.

A healthy septic system starts with knowing what belongs above it as well as what goes down it.

We've been hearing from quite a few customers who feel their inspections are being rushed or important things are being missed.

While AA Waste Disposal doesn't carry out quarterly inspections, we know some excellent local service technicians and are happy to recommend them.
