Design concept for a new single-storey home in the South-West, near Albany.

This concept is built around a simple and functional layout, with two side pavilions connected by a central open-plan living area and rear alfresco.
The pavilion arrangement helps protect and shelter the main living spaces from the local winds while creating a comfortable and private internal environment.

The exterior material palette focuses on durability and low maintenance, suited to bushfire-prone conditions. Monument Trimdek cladding is paired with a rusted steel-look feature to highlight the main entrance and give the home a strong, grounded character.

A clean, practical design that responds to climate, landscape, and lifestyle in the South-West.

Sneaky progress shot of our St.James project, nearing completion.

The extension creates a seamless open-plan living space connected to the front yard.
We aimed to retain and enhance the original 1950's architecture, juxtaposing it with modern materials and striking volumes.

Great news to end the working week, DA approval for this extension to a 1895’s heritage listed home in Fremantle.

The front (heritage) section of the dwelling completely retains its charm and character and is seamlessly connected to this modern open plan living and dining area, light filled with a series of openings to take advantage of its full northern aspect.

It is so satisfying to have the opportunity to work on such great pieces of our history and being able to remodel them to suit society’s modern-day living requirements, keeping a clear distinction between old and new but also coming together so well.

How does it look?
Definitely one to keep an eye on when we get to site.

Recently completed project consisting in a new pool area, annexed pavilion and art studio.
The area has a perfect indoor/outdoor balance with a new kitchen and living area where the family can gather and enjoy themselves, poolside.
The strong and bold architectural lines contrast with the surrounding rural landscape of the area.

We will now be moving ahead with stage two for this project involving an overall cosmetic renovation of the existing 1990’s face brick dwelling adjacent the new pool pavilion.

Initial design concept for a new single house and adjacent art studio in Albany.

The exterior look is based on the “barn style” home.

The façade is created by volumes that repeat in a series of elements creating an architectural repetition throughout the exterior, as well as internally.

Preliminary concept design for a 1950’s house extension and first floor addition.

Part of the brief was to keep the 1950’s feel internally while adding more room for a young growing family.

Despite retaining 95% of the existing ground floor, the existing house has been transformed from a small 2x1 to a comfortable 4x2, with a large open plan kitchen/dining/living added to the ground floor and opening out to the existing large front yard which was before disconnected from the rest of the house. The upstairs introduces an additional living space and a master suite, both taking advantage of the northern solar aspect.

With a few tweaks, we were able to completely change the house frontage and street appearance, in line with the owners personal aesthetic taste.

We look forward to developing this initial concept further. Swipe for a before and after comparison.

Site visit today at our internal courtyard house renovation project in Manning, now nearing completion.

The “L” shaped large extension to the existing house was cleverly designed to create an internal courtyard in order to bring natural light as well as air circulation at the center of the home.

Once landscaped, the internal courtyard will double as a focal natural backdrop for all existing and new living areas.

Great job from the team at Camorino Constructions. A few more weeks until hand over 👏🏻👏🏻

Successful meeting today with the planners at the City of Vincent to discuss our proposal for the Highgate extension on this very challenging 5.4m wide block.

We are one step closer to achieving the best design outcome possible for this property, with a bonus roof terrace which creates an additional outdoor living area with city views.

We do love a challenge, and can almost taste the Development Approval. We look forward to getting deep into documentation stage and start construction in 2022.
