There is a really nasty hole next to the exit ramp at the caltex servo on oxley road. Note: Take that exit very wide next time because it exploded my tyre and buckled the inside of the trailer rim. 😬

Rectified this damaged wall at a set of units in the city fairly quickly.

The original plan was to rebuild it using a close-match brick to replicate the existing wall. After discussing the options with both the real estate agent and the owner, I recommended upgrading to a besser block wall instead. While it doesn't perfectly match the original, it's a far stronger long-term solution as it's tied directly into the existing footing, providing much greater strength and stability.

Although reconstructing the fence posts and concreting them back in was outside my scope of work, it was necessary. The fence was only being held upright by ropes from the inside and was at risk of falling over. I wanted to make sure the job was left safe, secure, and built to last

Finished off a front fence design I started monday. Ready for render, panels and paint. The fall from left to right of the property was 1340mm which made this a tricky build. Client wanted it level and being governed by the max council height limit the best decision is to find relevance. 2 meters up eitherside of driveway and left hand side level finished height.

The other build is a reno job. Previous client I did a fairbit of work for a couple of years ago. Couldnt match the original brick as they are 'Harvest cream' and I took the last of the discontinued stock from pgh bricks in oxley years ago.
One of the challenges in renovation work is finding a match. I have really good reps that respond instantly for a match up.

Finished this engineered spec build today. A few hiccups at the beginning but I got there in the end.
The concreters starter bars werent in the right spot for majority which resulted in me removing, drilling and chemsetting in 47 new bars to rectify that issue. Excavation didnt give clearance for the 300 series which was a fairbit of jackhammer, and dirt removal work. Ordered a crane truck to hopefully get the blocks dropped further down the driveway but an electrical wire hindered that wishful thought. 🤣 So in fact its just a standard day in my world.

Apart from all of that the wall turned out awesome. I went and bought some fibro sheets and cut into 125mm strips to cap the 300 series so corefill is a breeze for the concreters as without doing that there would be significant overflow. Pre installed the drop bars and fixed them to either a horizontal reo or starter as installing after the wall was up is non applicable. Jointed, brushed and washed bothside that arent retaining and visible.
1 meter 300 series then 1 meter 200 series for the major retaining side and the rest all in 200 series.

Walked all the blocks in carted all the sand my trailer on the road.
Cut full standard and half standards around all the steel posts. Some posts didnt line up with 2 end posts so further cutting was required. All prepped prior to laying any blocks. Prepped all the reo cuts.
Once everything was prepped it flowed nice.
Nice solid build and has definitely made this space more useable.

Started monday and finished midday today so a solid effort and its fair to say Im sore 🤣

Garage wall return reconstruction.

The front panel was largely dismantled and toothed into the corner section.
The crack propagated to a point just beneath the light fixture, aswells as being caved in. Reconstruction is evident where the mortar exhibits a darker hue, which will match the surrounding area once fully dry. 👍
