Apprentice Painter and Decorator position available
This full-time role involves painting both interiors and exteriors, preparing surfaces, working on mainly residential projects in the Ipswich and surrounding region.

Role Description:
Performing support duties to assist tradesmen painters and other apprentices
Cleaning work areas and equipment
Applying protective coverings such as masking tape to articles or areas that could be damaged or stained by work processes (including pre-finished surfaces)
Filling cracks or breaks in surfaces of plaster articles or areas with putty or epoxy compounds and patching
Smoothing surfaces of articles to be painted, using sanding and buffing tools and equipment
Attending all safety training and other classes provided by the RTO
Learning to use the equipment and how to inspect equipment before each use
Bringing the minimum required tools to work every day
Please consider the following:
1) Am I willing to follow instructions and work as part of a team? JPS is a family-run business. You’ll gain hands-on experience and progress through your apprenticeship with expert mentorship. We work primarily in the Residential repaint sector, a polite manner and a clean appearance are expected - no exceptions.
2) Have my Driver's license or access to my own transportation is preferred. Work sites are located in the general Ipswich area.
3) Do I have a strong work ethic? This is an opportunity to learn a trade in the booming construction industry.
4) Am I eager to learn? Skills and proficiency will come with time, the right attitude from the start is imperative.
5) Am I physically capable? Work in the trades industry is physically demanding but extremely rewarding.
This is a fantastic opportunity to earn a nationally recognized qualification in Painting & Decorating (CPC30611 – Certificate III) while working as part of a supportive team.
