Got a call for a tripping light circuit Wednesday afternoon. After doing a walk around the house I found a front awning light full to the brim with water. Water and electricity don’t mix.
Removed the faulty light, made safe and will return with a new LED light. Will also be looking for where the water has come from before replacing.

Also changed over a faulty external wall light that tripped a light circuit in one of the recent
storms.

A scary find a couple of days ago.

Customer needed a trench dug in there back yard to run power for pool pump and heat pump.

There was an existing power circuit for the shed already in.
Conduit was found in a metal pipe directly under the grass. ( Should 600mm deep )

This could have been a very bad day for someone if they hit this while digging.

Always be careful when digging in your yard.
Get a licensed Electrician out to disconnect and isolate existing power before digging.

Had a previous contact me recently about running power out to the back yard to run a pool pump and heat pump for the newly installed pool as well as power for the new shed.
New sub board installed in shed feeding the pool accessories.
Turned into a bit of a sloppy job today with the rain.
Always consult a qualified electrician when putting a pool.
A few things to think about when wanting to install a new pool.
- If a concrete pool it needs to be earthed
- All reo within the concrete of the pool and surrounding concrete needs to be earthed
- Pool fence need to be earthed
-Anything metal within 1.25m of the edge of the pool also needs to be earthed.

A before and after shot of a switchboard upgrade today. Current Electrical standards now state all circuits within a house need to be on individual RCDS. Makes for a much cleaner looking and safer switchboard.
