Great to see innovative building tech coming to the Goldfields.

Thank you to Glenn Briers, Managing Director of Westralia Homes and his team in Kalgoorlie who showed me their innovative Waffle Pod slab construction technology for new construction in Kalgoorlie-Boulder and throughout the Goldfields region.

They received a Cook Labor Government RED Grant in the most recent funding round supporting them to deliver this new technology to the region.

Made in Australia by VISY, the technology can help cut construction time and reduce site works, supporting faster home builds in regional WA.

Our Managing Director Glenn Briers, Ali Kent MLA and KBCCI CEO Simone de Been, KBCCI Board Members met with Minister for Planning and Lands, Housing & Works to discuss land and building works for the Goldfields.

On Tuesday KBCCI CEO Simone de Been, President Garry Symonds, Board Member Chris Devlin and Glenn Briers from Westralia Homes met with the Minister for Planning and Lands; Housing and Works and Ali Kent MLA - Member for Kalgoorlie to raise issues affecting our business community. Discussions took place around the availability and affordability of land, GROH housing, the additional essential workers housing earmarked for Kalgoorlie-Boulder and larger industrial lots for our businesses who are desperate to expand. It was a very positive meeting with a number of solutions being consider

KBCCI CEO Simone deBeen, President Garry Symonds, Board Member Chris Devlin and Glenn Briers Westralia Homes recently met with Hon. Jackie Jarvis, Minister for Small Business to discuss issues affecting our business community. Discussions took place around fuel security and support for our businesses, especially those locked into fixed term contracts. We stressed the importance of raising the Payroll Tax threshold as it is one of the biggest burdens on our members.
