✅ Sports Lighting Upgrade at Jandowae State School 💡🏉

We’ve teamed up with our friends at Court Craft Sports Courts Surfaces to deliver a full sports lighting upgrade in the rural town of Jandowae!

What we did:
🦺 Site safety procedures including risk assessment and control measures
⚡ Isolation of existing sports lighting circuits

🔧 Removal of old metal halide floodlights from four lighting poles
🏗️ Installed heavy-duty pole-top brackets
💡 Fitted ELA 1650W LED floodlights on all 4 poles for high-efficiency, long-lasting performance
🔌 Installed new LED lighting switchgear at the base of each pole
🧵 Routed and terminated new electrical cabling, fully protected and labelled
🛡️ Upgraded circuit protection to meet current standards

A big shoutout to Court Craft Sports Courts Surfaces - their work on the courts perfectly complements the lighting upgrade, creating a safe, bright, and professional facility for the students and community!

⚡️ Another One Caught Just in Time ⚡️

Attended site for a smoke alarm upgrade — but while on the job, something didn’t look right with the switchboard…

After a closer look, we found the main neutral had a hot joint that had been cooking away for quite some time 🔥

The result:
• Melted switchboard enclosure
• Burnt neutral bar
• Serious fire risk ⚠️

This is exactly why it pays to have a licensed electrician who looks beyond just the job at hand.

🛠 What we did:
✔️ Installed new smoke alarms (master bedroom, downstairs living & garage)
✔️ Reconfigured and house-coded entire system to wireless controller
✔️ Identified major electrical fault in switchboard
✔️ Replaced damaged neutral bar and re-terminated conductors
✔️ Tested and confirmed safe operation

📊 Final test results:
• Fault loop impedance: 0.36 Ω
• Fault current: ~670A

👉 System now operating safely and within spec

⚠️ Takeaway:
That fault could’ve easily turned into a house fire or major appliance damage if left any longer.

The switchboard is now safe, but due to the damage, we’ve recommended a full upgrade for long-term reliability and compliance.
