Last month, we welcomed William from Narbethong Special School for a taste of real-world horticulture.

A keen gardener, William got the chance to put his passion into practice, with our Site Supervisor Abby taking him under her wing at West Village.

He got stuck in, learnt the ropes and did an incredible job!

A podium finish on the world stage! 🐉🇦🇺

What an incredible week for team Dragons Abreast Brisbane Missabittatitti, at the annual IBCPC Dragon Boat Festival in France.

Competing alongside 170 teams from around the world, the team powered their way to an incredible 3rd overall, finishing 🥈 2nd in the 1000m and 🥉 3rd in the 200m.

More than just racing, the festival was about connection, camaraderie and coming together for an important cause. The team had an amazing time both on and off the water, and we’re incredibly proud to have supported and sponsored their journey.

Congratulations, team — what a result! 👏🐉🇦🇺

Hedge is proud to sponsor the Dragons Abreast Brisbane as they prepare to compete at the iconic 2026 IBCPC Dragon Boat Festival in Aix-les-Bains, France, from 24–30 August.

Held every three to four years, this inspiring international event brings together breast cancer survivors and supporters from around the world. The 2026 festival is expected to welcome more than 4,500 participants from 37 countries across every continent.

Another beautiful moment shared with our residents during last week’s workshop. 🌿

Inspired by the theme “Plant Your Calm,” residents created simple yet meaningful pot arrangements focused on nurturing wellbeing through gardening. To make each creation even more personal, they wrote their own affirmations and added them to their arrangements, a lovely reminder to cultivate positivity, mindfulness, and inner peace every day.

Some causes resonate especially close to home. This Saturday, 30 May from 1pm, join us at Easy Times Brewing Co. (20 Logan Road, Woolloongabba) in support of FightMND, the Robinson family, and all families affected by Motor Neurone Disease.
