A splash of colour can go a long way, as you can see with the functional art in this Beeliar carpark. 👌 We contributed to Subiaco Building Company's completion of the 660 Beeliar Drive Commercial Development in Success with bollards, fencing, and gates. The development includes a range of tenants, from 8 YOLKS CAFE and other eateries to a government office and childcare centre. 🙌

🔹 Elder Street Lookout: Part 3 🔹

Working from incomplete shop drawings, they were impractical in conveying on paper the array of twisted plates welded and formed to create many triangles within a 3D concave and convex structure. 📑

To combat this we devised a very unconventional method of fabrication to determine the positioning of plate corners and node centres. It involved surveying points on a very flat and level steel bed, and projecting laser lines through these points with corresponding heights.

We found that even with the precision of surveying, it still wasn't enough for the zero tolerance that had been allowed. This means we are currently having to print the same survey points onto transparent film and use a grouping method to find the most accurate location of points. This is just one example of the precision and depth required to ensure the structure will nest into the next frame when installed. ✅

The Elder Street Lookout facade steelwork is estimated to be completed in October this year - keep your eyes peeled for further updates! 👌
