Taking shape | Dundrennan

Another walk-through of our Dundrennan project as we move closer to completion.

With the joinery now installed, we’re starting to see the design, material selections and months of planning come together throughout the apartment.

There’s still plenty happening behind the scenes, with stone benchtops, final finishes and detailing yet to come, but this is always a rewarding stage of a renovation — when the spaces begin to feel less like a construction site and more like a home.

Looking forward to seeing the next layer come together.

Part 3 | Solving the constraints

Every project comes with its own challenges, and this renovation was no different.

In this final walk-through with Victoria from Cutler & Co, we discuss the kitchen layout, coordinating the mechanical services, and working through the building’s body corporate requirements. By carefully planning the services, we were able to avoid installing additional vents through the building façade while still achieving the functionality the space required.

The best outcomes come from collaboration, thoughtful planning, and a team that’s willing to solve problems together.

Part 2 | It’s all in the details

Continuing our walk-through of the Dundrennan project with Victoria from Cutler & Co.

In this part, we discuss the decision to remove the existing angled doorway and replace it with a square opening. While it may seem like a subtle change, it’s one that improves the functionality of the space while creating cleaner sightlines and a more natural flow throughout the home.

The best renovations aren’t always about adding more—they’re about making thoughtful design decisions that enhance the way a home is experienced.

Part 1 | Collaboration on site

A recent walk-through of our Dundrennan project with project architect Victoria from Cutler & Co.

This stage of a build is where the finer details really come into focus. From reviewing the completed wall sheeting before plaster setting begins, to refining how services are integrated, and removing a bulkhead to improve the flow through the space—it’s the small decisions that collectively make a significant difference.

Great design doesn’t stop once the plans are approved. It continues through open communication, collaboration, and a shared commitment to getting the details right.
