One step closer to opening day! 💦🌱

It's exciting to see the Kununurra Aquatic and Leisure Centre redevelopment starting to come to life, with turf now being laid around the facility.

A big shout-out to Kimberley Green Constructions, who are doing a fantastic job bringing this project together. We're proud to be supplying the Empire Zoysia turf and can't wait to see it establish over the coming weeks.

Community projects like this create greener, cooler and more welcoming spaces for local families, and we're looking forward to seeing the finished result enjoyed by the whole community 💚

We became turf farmers by accident.

When we bought the farm nearly 10 years ago, I wasn't exactly a turf expert.

But I do love plants, and plants love sunshine and water, and Kununurra has plenty of both.

As it turns out, there's a bit more to growing quality turf than that.

Thankfully, we've had nearly a decade to learn.

Over the years we've watched, listened and adapted. We've trialled new ideas, made mistakes, celebrated wins, and learned something new every wet season and every dry season.

Turf has a way of teaching patience.

Through it all, the goal has remained pretty simple:

To grow the best turf we can for Kimberley and Pilbara conditions. Turf that's tough enough to handle the North, while staying lush, healthy and beautiful year-round.

Looking back at these young turf farmers, it's amazing to see how far the farm and business have come over the past 10 years. 🌿

🌿 A fresh new look for the Cambridge Hotel Kununurra 🤩

The front of the new Cambridge Hotel Kununurra is looking fresh with locally grown Ord Valley Turf laid by the team at Remote Trade Solutions.

It’s always exciting to see local turf used on local projects, especially in spaces that help make our town feel more welcoming, cooler and greener.

A great transformation already, and it will only get better as the turf settles in over the coming weeks.

Great job by Remote Trade Solutions on the install 👏

Choosing turf in the Northwest isn't like choosing turf anywhere else. 🌿

40-degree days. Bore water. Red dust. Full sun from dawn to dusk.

A lawn that works in Perth won't always survive its first summer up here.

Before you pick a variety, think about your yard:

☀️ How much sun? 💧 What's your water source? 👣 Kids? Dogs? Both? 🔧 How much maintenance do you really want to do?

We grow Empire Zoysia right here in the Ord Valley and we've watched it handle the worst the Northwest throws at it.

Dense. Drought-tolerant. Low maintenance once established. And it still looks great in February.

There’s nothing better than hearing feedback like this from happy customers 💚

We love seeing how a great lawn can completely transform an outdoor space... not just how it looks, but how it’s used and enjoyed.

A huge thank you to our wonderful customers for trusting us with your projects 🌿

Your backyard is the best part of your day. It should feel like it. 🌿

We talk to people across the Northwest every week, and there's one thing that comes up more than anything, how much a bit of green changes the way a place feels.

Not just how it looks. How it feels when you walk outside after a long day.

Cool under your feet instead of hot dirt. Somewhere the kids can run around. Somewhere you actually want to sit with a cold drink on a Saturday arvo.

It sounds simple, but up here, it makes a real difference.

The heat, the dust, the hardstand, it all adds up. And when everything outside your door feels hard and dry, it's tough to switch off.

That's why we grow Empire Zoysia right here in the Kimberley. It's built for this climate. It handles the heat, it bounces back, and it turns a bare patch of dirt into somewhere you actually want to be.

Whether it's your backyard, your front yard, or just a little patch of green for the dog, it changes things.

A cooler space. Less dust. More life.

If you've been thinking about it, I'm always happy to have a chat. Give me a call or flick me a message. ☀️

There’s a difference between turf that grows… and turf that endures.

When we first started, we grew multiple turf varieties.

But the Northwest has a way of simplifying decisions.

Heat, UV, Pindan soils, and variable water conditions quickly reveal what actually survives long term.

Across the Kimberley and Pilbara, Empire Zoysia consistently outperforms the rest.

It handled sustained heat, recovered from heavy traffic, and maintained structure under tough water conditions… year after year.

So we specialised.

By focusing on one proven performer, we understand exactly how it establishes and performs in real Northwest conditions.

For you, that means:

✅ Greater confidence at the specification stage
✅ Reduced risk of early failure
✅ Lower maintenance costs
✅ Consistent long-term performance

In this region, certainty matters.

If you’re considering turf for your site, give us a shout to discuss suitability.
