A majorly biased lean towards the house...
They're very beautiful trees, but they are hazardous. Dropping branches and limbs all the time from very high up... They aren't called "widowmakers" for nothing...
It's a shame this one had to go, but it was a danger to the house and the family that lives there.
Once we did our wedge cut, we also found it was being eaten from the inside, and was starting to hollow out!!!
Best it was brought down safely before it fell down.

Midway through a site clear/house pad and we had to dig out the mother of all Black Wattle stumps. Took a whole day, but she came out in the end. Holy Dooley! With a house pad, you can't just stump grind them below ground level, as they will eventually rot and leave a hole below the slab, which leaves the slab susceptible to cracking. So it had to come out.

Transformed a soggy, driveway enclave into a solid spot for the campervan today.
A spoon drain was definitely needed to divert the water, which was running down the hill and pooling in this area.
A nice layer of clay based crush fill, and a thick layer of scalps over the top, levelled out nicely.
