We spent the day yesterday hosting our TCD Potential Energy event showcasing our remote building, renewable power systems and site vehicles. Reduced power consumption in our buildings increase the available energy to then power site based EV’s. Fully scalable as the site gets larger. We also has eLumina’s DS400 Satellite BIEVC unit on site with some impressive fast charging of our EV fleet

First in 4WD category and Second overall in Tarmac West 2025.

A huge congratulations to the team which doesn’t happen without the commitment of both racing and electric vehicle enthusiasts that turn up year after year. Significant progress was made this year in the teams performance with a combination of racecar engineering and electrical engineering propelling the car one spot further from last years third place.

Without their commitment we don’t have a car in the race and we don’t see what is possible on the electric platform.

There is only one way to find out if we can get to the top step of the podium and we look forward to working with the team on how we can give our best effort to achieving that.

Concurrently with our race finish goals we have a sustainable energy goal and we made huge steps in unlocking a future race on 100% sustainable energy.

Saturday is always the toughest day for electric vehicle racing at Tarmac West but we have made significant progress to our charging partner eLumina

Historically we have not had the charging power and battery storage to the level that they have supplied us for this race. This, along with the additional control over the Tesla’s battery control and cooling system has meant we can control the thermal load generated on longer stages with large back to back charging requirements.

Massive gains made and we come into the final day sitting third overall

Our first all-electric Ford F-150 Lightning has landed on-site in the Pilbara.

Electric vehicles are just one piece of the puzzle. The real challenge, and opportunity, lies in building the energy systems around them. We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to rethink how remote civil and mining sites can be powered sustainably, and we’re excited to soon share our vision for a fully electrified worksite.

Western Australia’s remoteness poses unique energy challenges which doesn’t have to be a barrier, it can be a catalyst for innovation.

Stay tuned. The future of low-emissions construction in the Pilbara is already rolling.

Our Building and Electrical Divisions have been working hand in hand on something that often gets overlooked on major projects—our remote facilities.

These new-generation portable buildings aren’t just practical—they’re part of the energy transition on site. By designing buildings with improved thermal efficiency, we’re not only enhancing comfort and usability, we’re also reducing energy demand at the source. That matters when you’re planning for transitioning your energy system.

We’re excited about what this means for the future of our sites—and how we build and power them. More to come as we keep building. Watch this space.

Today marks a special milestone—TCD celebrates 40 years in business.
From humble beginnings as an underground services contractor, founded with a simple mission to provide user-friendly and high-quality service to clients in the land development industry, TCD has grown into one of Western Australia’s leading civil construction companies.

Over the decades, we’ve also become a market leader in mine dewatering services—expanding our capabilities while staying true to our founding core values.

This journey hasn’t been walked alone. We are immensely proud of how far we’ve come, and deeply grateful to every person who’s been part of the story—our employees, past and present, and our valued clients and partners. Your contribution has shaped what TCD is today.

Here’s to the road we’ve travelled, and the future ahead

You couldn’t make this up…

We launched our outdoor campaign to support WA basketball — and Bryce Cotton decided to head east!

While we’ll always prefer him in red, we’re proud to have shared the stage (and a few buses!) with a legend who helped define a generation of Wildcats fans.

Bryce, thanks for everything you brought to WA hoops — and best of luck in Adelaide.

🏀 From the Cougars juniors to the pros, TCD backs basketball at every level.
